Were you a veteran Fandom resident? Did you finish getting your brain broken by your sibling and/or buddy? Did you just want to sit down to recover from the shuttle ride? If so, then there were plenty of tables and chairs set up across the lawn just waiting to be filled!

[This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Was there food? Yes. So of course Éponine was there, helping herself to various things off the tables and otherwise lurking behind a tree, like the lurking lurker with low self-esteem that she was.

In no way was she keeping an eye on Cosette out of some weird twisted mixture of obligation and guilt and resentment.

No, she was absolutely keeping a wary eye out for any of the new students being people she might have known -- okay, to be fair, she was doing that too, because she occasionally worried that Montparnasse might find his way back somehow and she wouldn't put it past him. Also the thought of, say, a young Gueulemer or Brujon appearing at the picnic? That was horrifying.
