Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Were you a veteran Fandom resident? Did you finish getting your brain broken by your sibling and/or buddy? Did you just want to sit down to recover from the shuttle ride? If so, then there were plenty of tables and chairs set up across the lawn just waiting to be filled!

[This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Johnny, then. Did I tell you I'm Kaylin? Yes, I did, sorry." This politeness thing could be trickier than it looked - and it looked tricky.

"So, are you from a place like this or maybe another world or planet or something?" What? She was making small talk, wasn't she?

"Well, it's never rained fish in my New York, but otherwise, this is pretty familiar," Johnny said. "I got a pretty good rundown of what to expect, yes."

Kaylin nodded. "Good. It's a lot different from my home. Magic here, yes, but not like there. And all this electricity and internets and stuff... Not that I'm complaining about all the hot water you could ever want, believe me!"

"Different world," Kaylin said. "Very different. As far as I can tell you don't have any Leontines or Barrani or Dragons. Or even any Aerians."

"They have wings," she said wistfully. She wasn't even going to mention the Tha’alani. Just the thought of them made her shudder.

"The only words I understood are 'dragons' and 'wings,'" Johnny said. "I'm just going to assume it makes sense."

"Don't worry about it. As far as I can tell, this picnic is basically here so people can get being confused about each others cultures over with ASAP," Johnny said.

"Could be," Kaylin said, "Though I'm told some people also enjoy 'breaking the brains' of the new students. I met a pink talking horse thing on my first day."
