Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The nice thing about the fall welcome picnics was that, well, they didn't typically happen in the fall. It was definitely still summer in Fandom, with sunny skies and a light breeze blowing through the front lawn of the school. Folks had gotten up bright and early to make sure there were plenty of tables, chairs, and blue and gold streamers to decorate the picnic area.

And glitter. So much glitter for the new folks to learn to love.

Getting the food out was the finishing touch, and then everything was ready for the new (and not-so-new) arrivals!

[This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here! Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"A good teacher never actually stops learning," she replied tranquilly. "What an excellent idea, those extra laps."

Of course they were back on. Ghanima wouldn't miss it for the world.

She drew up alongside Reno, looking him over fondly. "Welcome home, my lupi. Staying long?"

Sweet! Reno liked laps, so there.

"I don't have any plans to take off any time soon," he replied, smirking a little. "Rikku and I needed a change of pace after bouncing back and forth between Spira and Gaia, and Fandom... if nothin' else, it's certainly good for a change of pace, yo."

And then some.

"How 'bout you?"

"Here, for now," she agreed. "I find the confines of court chafe at me more and more, but the sands shift underfoot, and I find ways to endure."

"That's pretty much what it boils down to at the end of the day, ain't it? You endure, yo."

Picking up the pieces in two worlds after the fall of civilization as they knew it. Sticking around long enough to realize that life went on.

"It's good to see you again."

Finding ways to endure.
