BWI Airport Portalocity Lounge- Saturday morning

A few days ago Gwen saw New York destroyed and drowned and her friend/roommate/surrogate brother type was presumed dead for a while- got a really amazing obituary for his alter-ego and everything. Today she was waiting for a portal that was going to take her to a school in Maryland. She was actually looking forward to school, just to get back to doing normal things again, but the timing was weird.

She seemed to be the first one here, and the banner meant she was probably in the right seat, so.

Gwen would be the sullen-looking girl sitting under the glittery Fandom High banner and showing too much midriff. And occasionally brushing at the top of her head with her hand because she was convinced the glitter was probably raining down on her.

Evie wasn't sure if that top really screamed 'don't look at me' because Evie was kind of judgmental, omg, but she wasn't going to argue. "Well, the brochure said we were going to school in a castle," she pointed out. "Maybe they'll have maps or something? Either to hand out or mounted on a wall with a little 'You are here' sticker."

"I think your problem started with having a Chemistry class in the first place," Evie said, wrinkling her nose. "Have you gotten your class schedule yet? I haven't."

"You too, huh?" Evie asked. "I didn't have a chance to get packed. All that--" she nodded towards the pile of matching Burberry luggage "--is from last minute shopping so I'd have clothes to wear when I arrived."

With a hearty dose of maternal guilt for foisting her off to another school for crazy people.

"We got the spiel and before Mom had even finished flipping through the brochure, she was making out a check for the tuition and scheduling plane tickets."
