Library, Friday [All Day]
Look, Constantine hadn't managed to survive this long without being able to sense when some magical shitestorm was brewing. It was oily and nasty, and so he was in the library today, reinforcing the wards and making sure that nothing was leaking out of Special Collections.
He was pretty sure he was dealing with a gnome invasion over in the 392.5s, but he was going to ignore it for now. So long as they didn't make off with any Fairy Brides, he wasn't going to stop them. Besides, the kids shouldn't be over there anyway.
The Fandom High Library was open, and cotton candy is not allowed around the books.

Around the Library [Day]
Re: Around the Library [Day]
She settled down at a table with an armload of books -- it wasn't as though there was a whole lot else she could do to help, and...well. When something made her afraid, or she didn't understand it, she looked in books for the answers. It seemed like a good place to start, for her.
Around the Library [Evening]
As far as Constantine was concerned, the only safer place on the island than the library was Caritas, so here he was, after-hours. Library doors open and lights on for anyone seeking knowledge or refuge.
Re: Around the Library [Evening]
So rather than heading home to Baltimore after class, he'd dropped his things off at his home on the island, changed to sturdier shoes, made several thermoses of coffee, and headed back to the school.
The
cannibalwas in, and probably wouldn't mind sharing his coffee with other library goers (it wasn't people).Re: Around the Library [Evening]
"Wait a second," she said softly, bolting up. "Wait a second. I think I found something!"
She peered closer at the photo (http://iambicnut.com/rpg/misc/wicked/worldsfair.jpg), frowning. That was the same logo, wasn't it? Wasn't it?
Re: Around the Library [Evening]
"Are you quite all right?" He indicated her bruise. "May I take a look?"
Re: Around the Library [Evening]
"Dr. Lecter, I think I found something about the scary carnival," she added quietly, holding still so he could look at her head.

Re: Around the Library [Evening]
Maybe time-traveling-slash-immortal carnivals were just another thing she didn't know about!
Re: Around the Library [Evening]
He sighed. "Not to mention that in this place, it wouldn't surprise me to learn they were from 1893 and got here through a portal."
That was the problem with Fandom - what was creepy and what was just the island?

He stood and held out a hand to her. "Why don't you come to one of the tables? I have coffee and fruit."
Re: Around the Library [Evening]
Priorities, Rapunzel.
She gathered up her hair and the book, adding, "I'm gonna keep reading this for answers, though -- it doesn't really seem to say anything about it, so far? Just that this was the Chicago World's Fair, whatever that means."
Re: Around the Library [Evening]
He had priorities, too.
"That was a huge festival at the time, with pavilions for many different countries. Does it say what this carnival was doing there?"
Re: Around the Library [Evening]
And when he noticed other people around, he guessed that he wasn't the only one who thought things were a little off.
Re: Around the Library [Evening]
She was just going to hang out here in the library and see if she could do any helpful research.
