extreme physical education, period 1, tuesday

Sam had never expected to be in front of a classroom full of students let alone at a school he'd graduated from not too long ago. But, Haley, his loving and beautiful sister had submitted a class proposal for him and only just told him a few days ago. Her excuse? To give him something to do. What a great sister she was!

"I'm Sam LaCroix and you've walked into extreme physical education today," he greeted, checking out the different colors of each students without even realizing it. At this point, he couldn't even turn that off. It was just a thing now. "I don't recognize any of you which makes me feel old but I did graduate from this place a little while ago so I know what goes on and how weird it is. Hopefully nothing weird happens in this class."

But, considering what he was, he figured a ghost or two would pop up without warning at some point. He just hoped no one would be able to see said ghost if and when it happened.

"Anyway, I've got some experience in the world of extreme. I've got a half pipe in the backyard of my house in Seattle and I've lived an...interesting life. I do a lot of running."

For his life.

"You might have noticed that we're in the Danger Shop today. A lot of things we're going to try are a little risky so I didn't want to put us in a place where there could be real injuries. You'll still get the experience and adrenaline kick but no trips to the nurse. We'll be covering a variety of different things from water to land to air. Today, we're gonna start off easy. Let's do the typical introduction thing where you tell me your name and something you might wanna try in a class like this. Go wild. After that, we're gonna go really get going with some bungee jumping."

Perhaps that wasn't something that would get the students in shape but it would definitely get their blood pumping.

Name and something you'd like to do in the class!

"Hi, I'm Kathy Li, and I'm a gymnast," Kathy said when it was her turn. Yeah, he hadn't asked for the information, but it seemed relevant. "And I'd like to practice parkour and free running."

Sharpening those skills would come in handy for her new nocturnal activities.

"Parkour, huh?" Sam nodded thoughtfully. "I've got a friend who might be able to demonstrate some of that a little later. I'm no good because I'm not flexible but she's definitely good. Definitely."

Kathy perked up a little more when Sam--sorry, he was just too young for her to think of him as 'Professor LaCroix'--used she to describe this friend of his. Yay women in extreme sports! "It would be awesome if she could," she enthused. "I'm pretty much going on what I can pick up from Youtube clips."

Oh god, he wanted no one to refer to him as Professor LaCroix. That was just too much for him.

"I'll talk to her after class," Sam said, nodding. "Don't see why she wouldn't wanna come down. I learned a lot of what I know from her so I'm sure she'd be happy to pass on her knowledge."

"Thanks, sir!"

Because she couldn't just call him Sam to his face! That might be rude!

"Hi, I'm Alana," Alana greeted, smiling a little because the teacher was cute. "Could we try wrestling? Like, the TV kind. Not the kind where you really try to hurt the other person."

"Hey, Alana," Sam greeted, giving her a smile and nod. "And you mean the wrestling with the flips and body slams, right? Where they learn how to fall so no one gets hurt but it still looks like it hurts?"

"Yeah, exactly," Alana said gratefully. "We have it at home and it's awesome to watch. I've always thought it'd probably be awesome to do, too."

"I can say with a certainty I've never actually watched but me and a friend have definitely tried that kind of wrestling so I might be able to bring him out here for a wrestling lesson."

Ramon would love it. Absolutely love it. "And I'll just be his rag doll to toss around as an example."

"Um, my name is Kira Yukimura, and I don't really know what I'd like to do. Maybe rock climbing?" she said. "Anything involving heights since, you know, we're in a safe spot and can enjoy them without dying."

"Rock climbing is definitely something I'd thought of," Sam told her, nodding. "We'll be giving that a try because I've heard the challenge is huge and the reward is even bigger."

Well, at least this class had a cute teacher. Even if Isabelle felt like there was something off about him. She couldn't really pinpoint what it was. Maybe she'd just had a long few days.

"Isabelle Lightwood," she said once it was her turn. "I don't have a preference. I'll try anything once."

"That makes it easy on me," Sam said, a little impressed by the colors she was emanating. He wondered if they had anything to do with the Marks he was seeing too. "Good thing here is you'll get to try a few different things once."

Person with weird colors and odd tattoo-looking things? Surely those couldn't be related.

Yeah, she was a weird one. And would've preened about knowing her colours were impressive. As things were, though, she just nodded. "Then I think I'll do fine here."

"I'm sure you will," Sam said with a nod before adding, "Nice tattoos by the way."

He said it idly like it was no big deal before looking around the class for the next person to give their intro.

Isabelle's eyebrow quirked.

She wasn't going to correct him, this time, or say anything about it at all. But she was going to keep that in mind.

"My name is Edward Kenway," Edward offered easily. "I'm just here to keep busy. Seems like it's a lot of sitting around otherwise."

"I'll take that reasoning," Sam said, nodding. "Good to have you. We'll get you moving shortly, I promise."

Time to go bungee jumping! The class is at the Rio Grande Bridge. You'll get a quick safety lesson and then go forth and jump!

Just a few months ago, Kathy would have spent more time peering over the edge of the bridge and asking just what she'd gotten herself into. Now, however, as soon as she finished double-checking her harness, she was flinging herself over the bride with a whoop of excitement.

Kira was really questioning why she'd signed up for this class as she got her harness on, and she screamed all the way down, and all the way back up. Still, the adrenaline rush was pretty cool.

He's around if you wanna chat!

Oh, my bb Sam. For those that aren't aware, Sam's a necromancer who's able to tell human from supernatural with this vision thing he does. Everyone, to him, is compromised of colors that indicate what they are and he's able to see that. If you're supernatural, he also smells like death and in later classes, he might have a ghost or two pop up around him because he's like candy to them.
