Pop-up books?

Evan had no idea if the library itself was being weird today, or if somebody had just swept through the stacks on a mission, because every last book that wound up on the circulation desk today was a pop-up book. And not just pop-up books for kids. There were pop-up classics (Peter Pan soaring off the page! A great leaping white whale! Steam from the pie in Titus Andronicus! ... Evan promptly shut that one.) and pop-up books about home renovations. Pop-up cookbooks (which Evan didn't open after that whole Titus thing) and self-help books and bibles and he wasn't sure why the library even had a pop-up crossword puzzle book, never mind how one was supposed to use it.

So far as library strangeness went, it was still pretty tame. But still weird enough to have Evan scratching his head about it.

... Why did the library even have a copy of the pop-up Kama Sutra!? Did it do these things just to make Evan squeak and flap his hands? Why was this a thing that even existed!?

It might have a disproportionate number of odd pop-up books today.

He's been bonked on the nose a couple of times, just by opening the backs of books to put the checkout card back into them.

If he's in, he's got a small pile of books growing on his desk with 'Special Collections!?' sticky notes on them, triple-underlined and with a pink highlighter for emphasis.
