Want to be a Hero?, Friday, 4th Period
Cara had told her students to met her at the Onsen today, where she was already relaxing in the water as she waited for them. When the last student had arrived and gotten changed into more appropriate gear (which the attendants providing swimsuits for anyone who hadn't realised that class being held there meant they should bring theirs), she stood to address them.
Luckily for them, she was wearing slightly more than she usually did when she visited outside of class hours.
"One thing that rarely address in heroic tales is discomfort," she said. "Or if they do, it's all about how rejecting all forms of physical comforts somehow makes them more worthy or superior, and anyone who takes pleasure in them is somehow soft. Which is a load of used Shadrin food."
She paused before continuing. "Sure, too much good food and too much rest will make you soft around the middle, and you should be able to endure various kinds of hardship if necessary, heat, cold, rain, sleepless nights, empty bellies. Not to mention that I imagine most of you wouldn't turn down a call for help because your food would get cold. But in most cases a well fed, well rested force will have an advantage over a tired and hungry one, so often there's no harm and a lot of good in appreciating simple pleasures when they're available to you.
"And if there's one simple pleasure that hardly anyone on this island actually appreciates, it's proper baths like this.Sure a shower is a pleasant enough way to clean, but you just wanted to get clean, a basin and a cloth will do that, in a bath this size however, you can properly soak overworked muscles. Having other people bathing with you, means not only can you help each other get clean, but you can relax together in ways you can't under other circumstances." Which wasn't actually meant as any kind of entendre, shockingly enough.
"Also, if you're comfortable with the kind public nudity required from yourself and others, then it's less likely that an enemy can use a lack of clothing to disorient you," You know, like Cara was right that moment.
"So get in, relax, converse with your classmates, scrub each other's backs." Be glad she hadn't decided to give you an actual final.

. . . Other people's lack of clothing was a little distracting. She was a big fan of people wearing less as a general rule.

Kathy had gone swimming lots of times with her cousins in Korea and at the pool nearby her apartment growing up, but just soaking in a tub with a bunch of
ridiculously attractiveclassmates all wearing swimsuits?Nope, that was new.
