The Day After Doomsday, Wednesday, Period 4
"Aaaalright." So, Reno had missed a few classes, and now the term was over. He licked his lips as he looked over the students gathered in the Danger Shop. "So I was a bit AWOL back there. I trust my Rookie and Rikku had you in pretty good hands the past couple weeks. If they didn't... Hey, means you get a trial by fire now, don't you."
The entire room shimmered, taking the students back to a scenario similar to the one that Reno had set up for their introductions class several weeks back. They were surrounded by a vast expanse of desert with no readily available water in sight. The sky was a sickly shade of spinach green, and in their immediate area, they were standing in what had presumably once been a thriving city, considering how huge it was. It was a pity that it was all sitting in ruins now, a sort of double-decker heap of twisted metal and shattered glass with very little that was still recognizable as a livable building or functional vehicle.
"Welcome to my home," Reno said, his tone almost eerily devoid of inflection, today. "Midgar, at ground zero. Millions dead, literally nothing will grow in the dirt in and around the city. No food, very little shelter, no water, the place is crawling with monsters, the entire city is radioactive, our best fuel source has been rendered impossible to use, and the world government was located at the middle of that city full of wreckage. Presumably, the guy in charge is dead. Try not to die. Anything else you do today is up to you, but you're going to want to do it as a group, aren't you?"
And then he turned around and walked away, taking a seat among the ruins to watch.
Yeah, that was it.

Re: Survive.
Though it was all suspiciously organized, with like stacked with like...
"If you'd like," Yeul replied, reaching into her pocket. "Will we be putting it up...?"
It was just that tents were always more difficult to put away again if you did that. Neatly packed up tents never were the same after that first use. Though Yeul supposed she didn't mind using a tent, if that was what was needed.
What she pulled out of her pocket did look tent-like--at least if you were familiar with what a folded up and packed into its bag tent looked like. The bag, set on the ground, came up nearly to Yeul's shoulder and she had to steady it with both hands.
Re: Survive.
"How?!" she sputtered. "That's not possible! You can't--how did you--Do you just hate physics or something?"
Re: Survive.
And yet they still had purses and backpacks. Ah, accessories.
Re: Survive.
"I have got to get me some jeans made in your world," Kathy said, shaking her head in disbelief. "Well, okay, if you don't mind sharing, that's shelter all taken care of. We might wanna lash a few tents together to make, like, a common area of something where we can all talk, but even so, having a place we all can go to retreat from the heat and stuff is a good step."
Re: Survive.
"If you say so," Yeul said agreeably. "I do not mind sharing."
Yeul watched Kathy calmly, content to see what the other girl would come up with next since, well, Yeul wasn't the one that cared about survival and her inclination to help was... always an iffy thing to rely on.
