Faculty Meeting, Wednesday (After Classes)

Putting together a faculty meeting, Zoe realized, wasn't that different from putting together a Student Council meeting. Today, she'd set things up in the faculty lounge; there was food - donuts, coffee, and cold drinks - and clean chairs and tables for people to sit at. Once most of the staff had arrived and gotten something to eat, she went to the front of the room.

"Good afternoon, everyone. Thank you all for coming," she said. "I'll admit, I don't really have any business to talk about. This is more of an opportunity for you all to have a chance to talk to each other about how things are going, or about the students, or anything you might need from me and the others. Does anyone have anything to bring up?"

Zoe was sticking to black coffee for the moment, but she was definitely eyeing an apple fritter. If no one took it, then clearly it was meant to be hers.

Cheryl was going to ignore the food and drinks, because she was rocking a hangover that was threatening to break open her skull. But she was here, because Pam had reminded her, and she was trying to stay awake, because she wasn't totally convinced that Zoe wasn't about to pull a Ms. Archer and scream at everyone. Better to be on alert for that kind of thing.

Cara had coffee and a donut in front of her, because you'd need caffeine and sugar too if bunch of squirrels decided they needed to explain 'the offside rule' instead of letting you go back to sleep.

Well, at least Hannibal wasn't the only well-dressed man here. He nodded to Bond.

Bond nodded back, his face betraying no sign of reaction to his thoughts on plaid suits the fact the last time he'd seen a face like Hannibal's, it'd had a bullet hole in the forehead.

Best poker player in the service.

Electroclash was just here for the donuts.

And maybe some idle curiosity about what the teaching staff actually looked like these days. But mostly the donuts. She was trying to not get too much powdered sugar on her costume.

Bo wasn't totally sure where her position stood on the line between faculty and... Fosse, but somebody had to keep Anakin from force-choking anybody over a pastry, right?

Exactly: Bo was here for the doughnuts. Or at the moment, a cream-filled Long-John and facial reactions to same that were entirely inappropriate for a professional atmosphere.

"Oh my God, Bo." Kate was pretty super glad to see her, yeah. That already put Bo several steps above Fosse, at least if you asked Kate.

"... You need to get a room with that pastry."

Bo considered this, then shook her head.

And wiped cream off the corner of her mouth.

"That would make it too hard for the rest of them to join in when I'm done with this one."

Kitty tried not to look at Bo while she was doing that, but it was too amusing not to.

So she gave her a thumbs up instead.

"I refoofe..." Bo, do not talk with your mouth full; aside from being rude, That's What She Said is only funny if you can hear what she said. "I refuse to pretend this shouldn't be illegal in at least the 48 contiguous states and possibly Puerto Rico," is What She Said once it was polite to do so.

While Hannibal's opinions on mass-marketed doughnuts probably weren't appropriate for public, it was always interesting to see somebody enjoying their food.

Particularly when they were enjoying it that much. He was hard-put not to laugh, but restrained himself.

Annnd here was Kate kind of feeling like an out of place kid again, cradling her cup of coffee between both hands like it was some kind of a security blanket.

This was just so weird. Being a grownup was weird.

Jack took two donuts and was contemplating a third as she eyed the rest of the room. Biotic metabolisms very much appreciated breakfast meetings.

Riley arrived and immediately grabbed for a donut. That took precedence over getting to know anyone. But, he did at least look attentive when the meeting started.

Okay, this was all worth it for the donuts. Kitty grabbed a chocolate one, because those were clearly the best, and she might get to you after she finished it.

Hannibal was here, but he had brought his own coffee. He would have brought food, but he hadn't been sure if it was that type of meeting.

It was entirely possible that John had not slept yet when he stumbled into the meeting, suit rumpled as always, and made a beeline for the coffee.

...or, really, that was just him normally. But *you* try negotiating with Special Collection on the various and sundry vagrancies of the cataloging system and see how chipper *you* are afterwards.
