"Welcome to Yellowstone National Park," Josh, possibly the only person ever to come to the place wearing a tie, said to the class, gesturing around at the nature. "Look at all the trees and stuff." He shrugged. "I spent most of my life behind a desk working fifteen hour days. Like I know trees, or geysers for that matter, but there's one that's located here that's about to go off. It's called Old Faithful because it's on a schedule you can time: it erupts every 91 minutes and we've got about five minutes to go, so let's grab some seats."

"Eruptions can shoot 3,700 to 8,400 US gallons of boiling water to a height of 106 to 185 feet and last from 1.5 to 5 minutes. The average height of an eruption is 145 feet," Josh told them. "Intervals between eruptions can range from 45 to 125 minutes, averaging 66.5 minutes in 1939, and slowly increasing to an average of 90 minutes apart today."

Steam started swirling above the opening. "Right on time."

Will felt a little down today but that wasn't going to stop him from appreciating Old Faithful. He'd seen pictures and he was pretty sure they'd driven somewhat near it on one of their many moves but it was still something else to see in person.

Sorry, Josh is the exactly opposite of a nature guy.

There was so much greenery. Sure, Kathy had Griffith Park back home, but that was nothing compared to how huge Yellowstone was.
