Evan was a little baffled, today, when he came into the library for his shift and the returns desk had been heaped high with books about towels and books about lilacs. And, try though he might, he really couldn't figure out why the library had so many books about either, or why all of them had apparently been checked out and then returned this morning.

There was nothing for it, he supposed, but to just put them back on the shelves. And, once he got to the bottom of the pile only to find a neatly folded towel with a lilac embroidered on it, shrug and sling it over his shoulders. Maybe he'd be able to figure out who owned it, later.

He really has no idea what to make of the towel he found. Nobody seems to be laying claim to it, though. He's starting to blame the library for this one.

All right, her still being played out conversation with Celia had done wonders for Eleanor's mood. She wasn't up for visiting a common room, or, say, actually speaking to Joker, but a library full of books sounded heavenly just about now.

She had intended to simply give a brief nod to whoever was sitting at the desk, but instead greeted the boy there with a smile.

"I don't believe I realized you worked here," she said. "Hello again."

Evan gave Eleanor a warm little smile as he realized who was greeting him.

"I work here and at the bookstore," he admitted. "I'm a bit of a bibliophile. It's not hard to find me, just so long as you know where the books are."

At all. Ever.

"Hi, Eleanor. How are you?"

"Near the books seems an ideal place to be," she agreed. "I'm well, I thank you. A bit frustrated from this island toying with us, but I've emerged largely unscathed. And yourself?"

"I think I might have missed out on that one," Evan replied, blinking a little. "The island was toying with people?"

This boy clearly needed to get out more.

But then, a kid with near godlike power, a telepathic deinonychus, and anger-management issues being artificially pushed into an angry state thanks to a space rock probably would have ended poorly.
