The students are greeted as they enter not by Professor Dream*, but by a small pink kitten sitting on the desk next to the sign-in sheet. Well, they will be once someone looks directly at her. Until then, the small pink kitten? Adorable, but invisible.

A stack of Cat vocabulary sheets are sitting next to the adorable pink kitten. The following is written on the board behind her:

We will be having a very special class on Cat today. Please greet your guest speaker, me, Zero Hopeless-Savage.

1. Conversation. Talk with Kitty Zero on any subject. Your end of the conversation should ideally be in Cat, however, if your limited vocabulary or the limits of the human body prevent this, feel free to use English. Kitten Zero understands it. Since Cat is such a body language-intensive language, if your statement requires actions thought vulgar by humans, please use English. Then repeat back to Kitten Zero what you think she said, in English. She will tell you if you're correct or not.

If all else fails, one mew for yes, two for no.

2. Comprehension. Kitten Zero will recite a short passage. Record what you think she said.

3. Discussion. Ask Human Zero about facets of the Cat language or Cat culture you would like to know more about. Please remember that her experience is limited.

*Unless Professor Dream is present.

/You're adorably naive./ The vocabulary for that is well above the level they should be working at, so Blair shouldn't understand it. Zero meant it that way. Also, it's mostly the cat-part of her brain talking, not the girl-part. /Wolves are large and smelly and dumb./ He should be able to follow that. /We do not like them, no./

Blair tilted his head. "I...uh..missed that first part."

/To each his own, I guess./

Zero sniffed. /You will think that when a wolf bites your head. Not all things can be reasoned with./

Blair leaned forward. /Aren't cats harder to reason with than canines?/

/You ask an interesting question. Domestic cats or wild ones? Domestic canines or wild ones? This may go beyond your voca--beyond the words you know. Perhaps we should continue it once I am human?/

Blair blinked and tried to replay the words over in his head slowly. "Uh...uh...yes?"

/Great!/

Molly passes a note to Blair.

We never did decide on a time for tutoring. Or where we're going to do it either. When are you free tonight?

Blair passes a note back.

I'm free after classes tonight! Where do you want to do it? In a common room? Dorm rooms? Maybe because we're sorta doing the dating thing too we should be somewhere where people could chaperone us so I don't take advantage of you.

Molly slapped her hand over her mouth to keep from laughing out loud at the last part. She really did need to tell him about the rest of her powers soon. No one who knew would ever worry about anyone taking advantage of her. The note got passed back again.

Do you have anything after Intro to Archaeology? We could go to the library.

Blair was too busy blushing to notice Molly's antics. He looked over the note and nodded.
Library it is!It's a date!

There was slight headdesking as he sent the note, scratch outs and all, back over to Molly.

Molly grinned over at him when she read the note. She wrote for just a moment and passed it back.

This is my first class of the day. So, I was doing my favorite thing this morning. Sleeping. It has been a good day so far.

A certain pink kitten watched all the note-passing without comment.

Blair smiled.

Good! I'm glad it's been good for you. Good days are good.

Pass note. Headdesk. It's becoming sort of a pattern.

Molly gave him a small look of concern over the headdesking. But, he didn't seem to be doing himself any permanent damage so she didn't mention it otherwise.

Good days are good. How has yours been so far?

Blair smiled and hoped that Molly wasn't thinking he was insane.

It's been ~~good~~ great! I did a lot of shopping in town for my friend Ivanova who's leaving today.

This note got Blair another look of concern.

I hope she's not leaving for good. I don't know her, but people need to stop leaving in the middle of the school year.

Blair smiled and nodded.

No kidding! She's hopefully only going to be gone for a while, but she's in the military or something so it's not up to her.

[do you want me to open a thread in the library for sixth period?]

Molly frowned more.

Just like Aeryn. I hope Ivonova gets to come back. She's in my Western Civ class, but I haven't talked to her a whole lot.

[Sure. Thanks.]

Blair grinned and scribbled.

You should call her Stella. Actually it's more like STELLLLAAAAA! It's my nickname for her.
