Cara had her class meet her in the Danger Shop this week, in front of a simulation of the preserve.

"We're going on a quest this week," she announced with very little preamble. "I'll be leading you through one end of the preserve to the other, with the aim of making it there by the end of class. If we make it in time you get cake."

Considering that just the week before, she'd had them meet outside the actual preserve, clearly there was nothing to be at all suspicious of here.

"Kinda." Cara was putting a significant amount of effort into acting this blasé about the wisps.

Raven found Cara's attitude about everything rather fascinating. "I was a little worried they might bite," she confessed.

"No, they'll just chirp at you long enough that you start hearing it as words." Because that was how night wisp language worked, and sadly there was no one still living who'd been around to see how adorable Cara's reaction to finally understanding it had been.

"That's kinda nifty," Raven said. She looked back at the wisps again. "I like that they're blue."

She was maybe a little biased.
