Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

With all the rain that had blown through earlier in the week, the school administration had been worried that welcome picnic day would be wet and gloomy. Thankfully, it was sunny, warm, and beautiful outside, and everything had been set up just in time for the shuttle of new folks to arrive. There was a buffet table of food and drinks waiting, along with the list of Big and Little Siblings, the list of roommates, and more name tags than they'd probably need for three picnics.

Also, there wasn't a single flower out on the lawn after last weekend. Just saying.

With everything in place, it looked like it was time for the first summer term to begin!

[OCD up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Loki turned to look at the school. "Ah, yes. And many stairs."

HOPE YOU'RE IN SHAPE.

"The cost is balanced with the, ah, oddities you find here."

"Oddities?"

Loki held up his hand up as though to stop anything else from being said. "It will sound crazy," he warned her. "But in this one particular instance, I assure you I am not lying."

"That sounds foreboding." And she wasn't sure if she should trust someone she's known for two minutes.

"I believe the term for this would be an interdimensional nexus," he continued, pointing over there. "And we have a teacher that is a pony."

"That's...a teacher?" Why was the fact that the pony apparently had a degree in education more shocking than the fact that it was a pony?

Because college was hard when you didn't have thumbs.

"She is indeed," Loki replied giving her an imploring smile. "You become used to it."

MAYBE?

"Does she use sign language or...?"

"Oh no, she talks. At length."

"Are you on drugs?" Legitimate question.

"No." Loki looked deeply confused. "Though I have not had the opportunity to try them as of yet."

Yeah, that was helpful.

"You don't need them," Felicity decided. But then she turned to look over at Pinkie again. "What does she even teach?"

"As of late? Baking." Which made soooo much sense for a pony. "I believe this semester is on games."

And friendship.

"That's insane," she said. "But I guess better than teaching a math class or something."

Yes, that was how she was going to compartmentalize this.

"I'm certain math is involved in baking."

Really, Loki?

"You're really not helping me get through this with my sanity left in tact." This was terrible big brother'ing.

Well, in his defense, he'd attempted to murder his brother a lot!

"Would you like cake?" Food solved this.

"Depends, does it also teach a class?" she asked.

"No. It is a cake."

Geeze, Felicity.

"Well in that case then I guess I'd like some cake, yeah." Better that than trying to comprehend what was going on here.

Loki gave her a pat on the arm before disappearing to get her that cake. It was probably best he hadn't mentioned the whole Norse god thing.
