Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2014, Early Saturday Evening [Part 1]

Right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, the ceremony for graduation was ready to go. The lawn of the school had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths for everyone to get to the seating area, and even in the fading sunlight, the graduates and their guests could likely see the beautiful job that the school's new gardening company had done getting plots of flowers and garden decorations set up around the stage. It might have been a long, cold winter, but there were no signs left of that tonight.

Of course, the pretty landscaping wasn't keeping the staff off of high alert, but hopefully the guests wouldn't notice as they were welcomed in.

Congratulations, Class of 2014! You made it! Now you just had to get through the ceremony. Maybe it would be quick and only slightly boring?

"Probably. So what have you been up to?" she asked.

"Ender and I have been doing some traveling," he said with a smile. "Moved to a new warm planet where Val's working on a book. We went to Naboo for a vacation pretty recently...now we're teaching here for the summer."

"Is this like a thing you do over the summers now?" Jaina said.

"At least this year," Ben said, nodding. "We want to keep an eye on Cade while we can."

"Probably a good idea. And hey, I might actually get to see you if and when I can make it back here then." Not that that was ever a guarantee these days.

Ben's face lit up. "That would be astral! How's everyone at home?"

"Good. Busy. Mom and Dad took Allana on some trip, so I'm sure I'll hear all about that when they get home," she said. "It's been good. Fairly peaceful, so I think everyone's trying to enjoy that."

Hahahaha give it a couple months.
