Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2014, Early Saturday Evening [Part 1]

Right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, the ceremony for graduation was ready to go. The lawn of the school had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths for everyone to get to the seating area, and even in the fading sunlight, the graduates and their guests could likely see the beautiful job that the school's new gardening company had done getting plots of flowers and garden decorations set up around the stage. It might have been a long, cold winter, but there were no signs left of that tonight.

Of course, the pretty landscaping wasn't keeping the staff off of high alert, but hopefully the guests wouldn't notice as they were welcomed in.

Congratulations, Class of 2014! You made it! Now you just had to get through the ceremony. Maybe it would be quick and only slightly boring?

"Past time," Cade said. "When are you leaving?"

Cassidy nodded. "Probably petty soon if my brother and cousin have their way. I wanted to stay for at least one summer session before I had to return home to duty, but I'm not sure that will work out." She smiled. "What about you?"

Cade glanced at the crowd and grimaced slightly. "If my uncle and grandfathers have anything to do with it, I'll be here until the end of summer. They don't want me back home."

Cassidy frowned. "But it should be your choice and no one else's."

"Yeah," Cade said with a little laugh. "Because life works that way."

"You're right," Cassidy said, wrinkling her nose. "Maybe I'll get lucky and find a way I can stay and you'll have a friend around for at least part of it?"
