Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2014, Early Saturday Evening [Part 1]

Right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, the ceremony for graduation was ready to go. The lawn of the school had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths for everyone to get to the seating area, and even in the fading sunlight, the graduates and their guests could likely see the beautiful job that the school's new gardening company had done getting plots of flowers and garden decorations set up around the stage. It might have been a long, cold winter, but there were no signs left of that tonight.

Of course, the pretty landscaping wasn't keeping the staff off of high alert, but hopefully the guests wouldn't notice as they were welcomed in.

Congratulations, Class of 2014! You made it! Now you just had to get through the ceremony. Maybe it would be quick and only slightly boring?

"I like being in a good mood," she admitted. "I think I shook most of the funk off. In related news, I'm going to group therapy and then going to look at kittens on Monday."

"With Sam? The new guy?" Clint said. "Wait, he didn't mention anything about kittens with the group thing."

"Oh, no. Allie had a really terrible trip home and sometimes you just need to look at kittens and not be sad," Kitty explained. "That'll be after Sam's thing, which I figure is worth checking out."

"Ah, yeah, she seemed kind of down the last time I talked to her," Clint said. "And Sam's thing sounded interesting. He seems like a nice guy."

Not that Clint would be setting foot near his group, but still.

"He really does," she agreed. "I hope I didn't freak him out. I tried to warn him that Fandom problems are not really the usual problems, so I showed him my powers. But I mean, he's gonna find out about that sort of thing anyway."

"Hey, he saw what happened in New York. After giant aliens and holes in the sky, mutants shouldn't faze him too much," Clint said. "He's a military guy though, so I'm sure he'll be able to roll with it."

"That's my hope. Either way, Monday should be interesting," Kitty said. "I just hope it goes well. I think a lot of people could use it."

"Considering the crap I know people have had to deal with - and that's just the people I know... yeah, Sam's got his work cut out for him," Clint said, snickering. "You'll have to let me know how it goes, if you're allowed to and all."

"If it's in a group, I probably can. Just shouldn't give out details about other people, I'm guessing," she reasoned. "I'll let you know. And you can reward me for not coming home with any more pets."

"Awww, I was going to tell you to pick a nice cat," Clint said, laughing. "Let's say I won't judge you whether you come home with a pet or not."

"Nooo, I'm being good," Kitty grinned. "But not judging is one of the things that makes you an awesome boyfriend."

"Considering how close I've gotten to rescuing another dog, I really, really can't judge," Clint pointed out.

"Ha. The reason I said we should go to a pet store was because if we went to a shelter I'd rescue all of them," she said. "Are you seriously looking?"

"No? Maybe?" Clint said, sighing. "I just figured... you know, I haven't really been settled before. I was always moving around or going on missions. But now I have a steady place to live and... it seems like a shame to not use that."

"Not a bad reason to get another dog," Kitty said. "I mean, Lucky's gone great."

"He has. I'm sure I could win Natasha over to the idea. She's very susceptible to my charm, you know." Just like someone else he knew, oh yeah.

"Could always wait till she's out of town and surprise her when she gets back," Kitty said. "'Oh, look, he followed me home, and also he's all settled in now so I guess he has to stay.'"

"I could, but that'd be like lying, and I like having Natasha trust me," Clint said, "I also have to consider if Lucky could handle having another dog around."

"And that's why I'm not allowed to get any more pets till I have that conversation with Lockheed," she said. "I get it. Trying to do best by everybody."

"I'm glad you get it," Clint said, slipping his arm around her. "It's nice to not have to explain myself a lot, you know? I think that's part of why we don't argue much."

Kitty nodded, leaning against him a little. "Or really ever. We are probably missing out on some amazing makeup sex," she said, then quickly added, "I should probably not have said that out loud here."

Clint laughed and lowered his voice. "I certainly don't have any complaints there, do you?"

"Noooo, not at all," she said, lowering her voice too. "I'm just saying, should the day ever come that we actually argue- and I'm not sure it will- we have awesome incentive to get over it quick."
