Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2014, Early Saturday Evening [Part 1]

Right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, the ceremony for graduation was ready to go. The lawn of the school had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths for everyone to get to the seating area, and even in the fading sunlight, the graduates and their guests could likely see the beautiful job that the school's new gardening company had done getting plots of flowers and garden decorations set up around the stage. It might have been a long, cold winter, but there were no signs left of that tonight.

Of course, the pretty landscaping wasn't keeping the staff off of high alert, but hopefully the guests wouldn't notice as they were welcomed in.

Congratulations, Class of 2014! You made it! Now you just had to get through the ceremony. Maybe it would be quick and only slightly boring?

"I was thinking more in the 'flying monkeys could be attacking' sense, but taking it as a fashion complaint works too, " Bay said breezily. "But now I want to know what you've seen that's worse."

"My advice, make sure you never get invited to a Hutt party," he replied. "Between the colors and what people aren't wearing-- you're going to flee screaming."

Atton adjusted his mortarboard a little more until it sat at a jaunty angle. "Anyway, I'm pretty sure we're not at the flying monkeys part just yet, going by my previous experience."

"Well, that's an encouraging note to start the ceremony on," Bay sighed, then squinted critically at his mortarboard. "Hmmm. Maybe put it a little more to the left."

"There's an actual way to do this?" Atton said. He contemplated being contrarian and pushing it even more to the right, but decided he didn't care enough and moved it as she'd instructed.

"Yep, and I'm the mortarboard expert," Bay said dryly, giving him a good once-over. "Okay, you're good now."
