Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2014, Early Saturday Evening [Part 1]

Right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, the ceremony for graduation was ready to go. The lawn of the school had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths for everyone to get to the seating area, and even in the fading sunlight, the graduates and their guests could likely see the beautiful job that the school's new gardening company had done getting plots of flowers and garden decorations set up around the stage. It might have been a long, cold winter, but there were no signs left of that tonight.

Of course, the pretty landscaping wasn't keeping the staff off of high alert, but hopefully the guests wouldn't notice as they were welcomed in.

Congratulations, Class of 2014! You made it! Now you just had to get through the ceremony. Maybe it would be quick and only slightly boring?

Alec hated the brightly-colored robes, and was looking at his sleeves mournfully. Why couldn't they have been black?

Clearly, the sentimentality of the day wasn't really getting to him.

Anna, on the other hand, was all about the sentimentality of the day, coming as it was about sixty years late for her. She thought her white dress looked very well with the robes, all things considered.

"Ready?" she asked Alec, reaching up to adjust her hat.
