Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2014, Early Saturday Evening [Part 1]

Right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, the ceremony for graduation was ready to go. The lawn of the school had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths for everyone to get to the seating area, and even in the fading sunlight, the graduates and their guests could likely see the beautiful job that the school's new gardening company had done getting plots of flowers and garden decorations set up around the stage. It might have been a long, cold winter, but there were no signs left of that tonight.

Of course, the pretty landscaping wasn't keeping the staff off of high alert, but hopefully the guests wouldn't notice as they were welcomed in.

Congratulations, Class of 2014! You made it! Now you just had to get through the ceremony. Maybe it would be quick and only slightly boring?

Oh, the urge was there to do something ridiculous when he crossed the stage but he didn't. Apparently, he was going low key. Maybe it had something to do with the guests in attendance.

Instead, he took the diploma, smiled, held it up smugly towards the audience and then went on his way.

Winona wasn't going to do anything embarrassing but she couldn't help but be proud. Very proud. And he looked so grown and so much like his father that she couldn't help but being a little teary.

Very, very slightly. It was deserved, dammit!

Emma clapped, because that's what you did for that guy you had some one night stands with, right?

Cara clapped.

Well for values of clapped that involved patting her tight with the palm of one hand. Look, she did it with slightly more enthusiasm than most of the previous people had gotten.

Even though Jim was a pain in the ass and was responsible for his bad tattoo he had been fun to hang out with. That was reason enough to cheer him on.

Gert applauded, even as she rolled her eyes at his obvious cockiness.

Oh, so his name was James.

Oh well. Topher applauded and made sure to yell really loudly, "Go Jennifer!"

It was tradition!

There wasn't going to be any loud hollering or anything from Natalie. But she did clap as loud as she could, and even stood up to do so.

Maybe she was even proud somehow.
