Library, Wednesday
The words in front of Sholeh kept blurring, though it wasn't until the first tear splashed against the page that she realized why.
::I'm crying?:: she asked her sisters in disbelief. ::I didn't think I was crying.::
Mostly, she was just numb. Completely in shock and having trouble stringing the words together into meaningful sentences. Which was just weird. After all, she was the scholar, the reader. So why wasn't the letter from home making any sense?
*You're not,* Zhahar whispered. *I am.*
::Oh,:: Sholeh said, nodding a little. ::That explains it then.::
She went back to looking at the letter in her hands. It was even harder to read now that Zhahar had just given in and started crying in earnest. Was something wrong with her, that she was having such trouble comprehending what it said? Was Fandom playing a prank? Was she getting sick?
=You can understand it just fine,= Zee said with uncharacteristic gentleness. =You just don't want to. Because it says we have to go home.=
Zeela saying it made it real, made the letter snap into harsh focus, the words dark and ugly against the page. And then it was no longer just Zhahar who was crying.

Re: Talk to Sholeh
She'd only come to visit.
Yeul did not know what to say, so she just let Sholeh cry, before reaching up to stroke Sholeh's hair with a careful hand.
Re: Talk to Sholeh
Talk about heartbroken.
She'd tried, but when she opened her mouth, the only thing she could say was, "We've been summoned home."
