Literature- Wednesday- 2nd period

"Well, this is our last class," Jess began once the bell rang. "And thanks for being great, even when things were totally crazy. Anyway, today's your final and you're going to do a little bit of work for it. It is an essay- sorry. I want you to tell me two thing: what was your favorite book that we read this semester, and which was your least favorite, and why. Be as thorough as you can with the answer, since this is going to count for a big part of your grade. Just do the best you can."

And then she added, "I believe in you!" Totally seriously. She really did believe in you, kids. You just go and own that final.

Cosette spent the entire period rambling on and on about what she liked about each of the books, and how she didn't dislike any of them but the one about the whale had been frustrating because she wanted to slap some sense into the protagonist, and meta for To Kill a Mockingbird and The Scarlet Letter had been upsetting (with a tangent about how she'd tried to discuss meta for To Kill a Mockingbird with her father and it had seemed to upset him even more than it had her).

It was a long essay, to the point where she felt a little guilty about the amount of paper by the time she turned it in.
