"No, see?" Pinkie was saying, just as class was due to start. "It's actually totally easy! I'll show you."
What she proceeded to demonstrate involved a fair amount of breaking of eggs (deliberately, even), sifting of flour and cheese, measuring out infinitesimal amounts of flavorings, and above all else, a whole lot of whisking. Somehow, through a process clearly accelerated to some sort of super-human frame rate, all of this somehow included a lovely display of knife juggling and resulted in a perfect cheese souffle, in approximately a minute and a half.
Pinkie set her souffle down -- gently, so the center quivered delicately -- as her timer let out a cheerful *DING!*
"See? Totally simple?"
Yuh-huh. Totally.
Derek sighed, looking up at the ceiling. "Why couldn't we just do donuts?" Look, deep frying was so much easier than souffles. If you ignored the potential for grease burns.
There was that.
Pinkie rolled her eyes. "Duh, we've been doing baking for weeks, now, so it's time for some advanced classes. Now put on your apron. That goes for all you guys, too!" she told the class. "It's time to get cooking like Julia Filly!"
Of course there was an Equestria Julia Child equivalent. Of course.
