Library, Wednesday
Sholeh was doing her best to maintain a calm facade for the patrons of the library. No one was going to benefit from a panicky library aide. No, she needed to be composed, collected, and helpful. The library was where people came to figure out solutions, not see a ninny hiding under her desk with her pinafore over her head.
So Sholeh set to work, straightening the research tables and tidying the books. The ones that had been deemed useless were put away, the ones that had seemed useful were set to the side, and another armload were brought down for people to look through for clues. She taped a few sheets of paper to the circulation desk for people to make notes that everyone could read. It was all well and good for someone to have the answer written down somewhere, but it wouldn't do anyone else any good if it wasn't disseminated properly.
The flying creature that was roosting on the bookcase squawked at her several times, but a few dark glares from Evan had it quieting down. He'd been sticking to her closer than her own shadow for the past several days and with all the sharp-toothed creatures lumbering about, Sholeh couldn't quite say she minded.
And--rats! Now her nose was bleeding again. There really was no rest for the weary.

Re: Talk to Sholeh
They'd passed by a crater where once there had been a building on the way here. He'd healed fairly quickly from the zombie fish bites, and someone somewhere out there was going to probably have to clean up what was left of that bear, eventually...
"You keep bleeding."
Granted, so did he. But it was more distressing when she did.

Re: Talk to Sholeh
Could she tell him so that he could stab it in the face? Or light it on fire? Or just rend it from limb to limb?
"What keeps causing it?"
Re: Talk to Sholeh
She pursed her lips at him slightly. "Evan, I'm a girl. You can't stop every instance of bleeding I deal with."
Especially not with violence, Evan, goodness!
Re: Talk to Sholeh
"... That's a little different, Sholeh."
Just saying.
But hey, it was enough to throw him, a little.
Re: Talk to Sholeh
And knifey-hands in the library was apparently hers. Good to know.
Re: Talk to Sholeh
This particular Evan had simply obliterated the psychos on the island before they could kill her, the last time the island had been invaded.
But still, Evan's overprotective streak here was more or less proportionate to Sholeh's propensity to getting herself brutalized when things invaded the island.
"And when the bears and dinosaurs and mummies go away, I'll be less concerned," he intoned, eyes flicking back to red, though he did shift his hand back to normal. "You're not getting hurt this time."
Re: Talk to Sholeh
But Sholeh was wise enough to understand compromise, so rather than say anything further, she dropped the tissue into the garbage and then added a few napkins to it so Evan wouldn't see her blood if he happened to glance in. "Thank you," she said, brushing a kiss on his cheek, right below one glowing red eye. "I do feel much safer with you as an escort. It's scary outside."
You know. Outside. Where they weren't.
