Library, Wednesday
Sholeh and Zeela had started a small ritual. Whenever one woke up, they would immediately confer with the other about small things. Little details chosen at random. If they agreed on what they remembered, they'd escaped whatever the latest bout of...Fandom...ness...that was currently...Fandoming. If they didn't agree, they promised not to waste time trying to figure out which one of them was 'right.' It hadn't happened yet, but it comforted Sholeh to have a plan.
Along that same vein, she was still setting out books for any researchers that decided to wander through. This week, she pulled out books about memory, memory spells and charms, and amnesia. That wasn't the same thing as whatever was happening, with people actually changing who they were (Sholeh and Zeela both agreed that Cecil hadn't been an adult when he'd started school and certainly didn't have tentacles!), but it was somewhere to start.

Re: Talk to Sholeh
And if there was a better incentive to continue to behave than the possibility of being banned from all these books, Sholeh had yet to discover it.
This was a much, much better topic than, say, the sister Sholeh couldn't remember!
"If you're not in a terrible hurry to get to the books about portals, I could give you a tour?" she offered.
Re: Talk to Sholeh
Yes please! Very much so!
Re: Talk to Sholeh
The library was extensive, but after two years of wandering through the stacks dusting, organizing, and reshelving, Sholeh had at least a rough idea of where everything was supposed to be. The books couldn't be trusted to stay in their proper areas as a general rule, but they usually didn't stray too far away.
"And I show you where the portal books are first and we can kind of make our way in a circle. This way, when the tour's over, you'll be right where you need to be."

Re: Talk to Sholeh
Zeela perked up in the back of Sholeh's head, interested in the conversation for the first time. =Hunter? What does she hunt? How? What weapons does she know?=
::I'm not asking all of those at once, Zee! I'm not going to overwhelm her with questions while sounding like a crazy person.::
"What do you hunt?" she asked aloud to keep the peace. "Like, for pelts or meat or...?" Sholeh realized she didn't know what else one could hunt for. It was definitely and area she lacked knowledge in. "If nothing else, your trip here means you'll have some time for reading. As a Fandom resident, you have access to the library just like anyone else."
Re: Talk to Sholeh
Red relaxed a little and said, "It's been a lean winter in the Fandom where I'm from. So yes, deer, and fish, and those big fluffy things whose name I don't know, to sell at the market. And sometimes I visit the mainland, and hunt things there, when I can't find any game in the woods. I don't suppose it's really needed here, though." Red shrugged a little, off-balance as she thought about it. "There's all those pubs and inns along the shore, selling all kinds of food."
Re: Talk to Sholeh
And thinking about the condition of the ocean off the coast...
"You may just want to stick with eating things that come from the restaurants," she said, looking abashed. "Umm, I don't think you'll want to eat any of the fish you can find in these waters. But if you don't have much money, the cafeteria serves students. And there's almost always food in the dorms."
To make up for basically taking away her livelihood for the duration of her stay, Sholeh gave her an apologetic smiled and said, "But we do have lots of romances? I can show you the stacks. They're one of my favorite genres and there are so many different types."
[I must sleep! SP?]
Re: Talk to Sholeh
Would he try to arrest a wolf, or not? Something to really ask Derek.
"Oh. Well. I'll do that, then," Red responded, biting her lip. Maybe she could talk this over with Derek, and find out how she could possibly pay him back.
"I'd love that. Only please, only the ones with happy endings. The tragic ones make me sad for days."
[NP! SP is win!]
Re: Talk to Sholeh
So Red probably could get away with it if she wanted to. Sholeh really didn't know for sure. She was the kind of girl who generally followed the rules, whether or not they'd be enforced.
"But I know lots of romances with happy endings!" Because, yay, it was something she could do for Red! "They're some of my favorites."
