Friendship is Baking!!!!1!, Wednesday, Period 3
Do you know what this class had been missing last week? C'mon, take a guess. Just one. No, those are all terrible. It was glitter. The class was missing glitter.
Well, this week they were making up for it.
And how.
You cannot fathom the depth of Pinkie's tormented excitement to be in this class, today. She was torn -- torn -- between absolute delight and deep, abiding worry. Her conflict meant that her princess unicorn horn -- remember her horn? Yeah, she still has that -- was spewing out a constant mist of glitter.
That's right, the very air was glitter. Don't worry, asthmatics, it's magic glitter.
"Hi, everyone," Derek said, smiling wide at the class. "Today we're going to learn about decorating cakes!"
Wasn't that exciting? Wasn't it?
It superduper was. Also, worrying. Friendship isn't just sunshine and puppies, ladies and gentlemen. It's also noticing that some people were gloomy by nature and when they suddenly weren't, it miiiiiiiiiight mean that something was wrong.
Which would be why Pinkie was dancing in place, eyeing her coteacher suspciously.
It was drugs, right? Pinkie had heard of drugs. There were lots of pee-ess-ays on the television about them.
"Yup, yup, yup!" she said. "Cake-a-decorating-ing! We have pipettes and rosettes and food dye! -Ettes! And no drugs. Nooooooo drugs of any kind."
Derek.
Derek was giving her a funny look right on back for that, but soldiered on for his class. Whom he loved and thought the best of. "And don't worry about making a mess or it not turning out perfect," he added. "Everyone has to start from somewhere, after all. Who knows, you might turn out to be great with enough practice!"
Oh god, he was like a walking motivational poster. With 'Soar' as the caption.
Definitely drugs. Pinkie was already planning the intervention.

If she was glancing in Derek's general direction as she said that, she didn't really need to finish the thought, did she?

"His face never ever looks like that, does it?"

Okay, that was a prospect that made her more uncomfortable than she was going to let on.

Another nod towards Derek.
"–– I guess I'll be fine."
