This morning, Evan had woken up in a little shack out in the woods, beyond the campgrounds, freezing his little snow-white butt off. At least his dog had been there too, just as perturbed about the change in surroundings as he was, and, as an added bonus, Evan hadn't had to track down his things today, like he had before break.

It did mean that he needed to make a few pit-stops before coming in to open the library, though. He had to trek back to the dorms to take a shower that seriously put the dormitory water heaters to the test, and then he needed to head into town to buy a hot chocolate that was at least two times the size of his head before he'd even think to come in.

So, yeah, he was a little late for his shift. But it was the very end of spring break, and it didn't look as though there was really any work to be done anyway, so Evan didn't seem terribly concerned about his tardiness, just this once.

Mostly, he just seemed sleepy. Maybe tonight he'd finally bite the bullet and get himself a hotel room or something.
