Self-Expression- Monday- 4th period

Class was in the Danger Shop today, which was done up to look like a small gym. Kitty had figured that there would be more than enough room, plus anyone who had to deal with small children could take them off to the side if there were any problems.

With her was Lexi, who looked really pretty excited about being in class. "Hey, everyone," Kitty said. "Once again the usual plan got thrown out because of Fandom, but that's okay. For anyone new in here, I'm Kitty and this is Lexi, and today we're going to work on self-expression through a dance party. Yes, you have to. Don't be shy, we're here to have fun today."

And then she hit play on the totally safe, kid-friendly pop music and you all were just going to have to deal with it.

Cecil grinned at the enthusiastic little girl and her tired-looking mom. "Can I dance with you instead? I don't have a dance partner."

"Yes!" Margaret declared, while Celia shot him a grateful smile.

"My name's Margaret," she told him, bouncing over. "What's yours?"

"I'm Cecil. And I'm jealous!" He grinned. "I didn't get any kids this weekend."

"Count yourself lucky," Celia said, shaking her head as she watched them.

"Mama's grumpy because she's confused about me," Margaret informed him. "How come you don't have any children?"

"I don't know." Cecil sighed. "I think ♥Carlos♥ and I - that's my boyfriend - would have wonderful children!" He shrugged. "Well, maybe next time. Until then, I just get to play with everybody else's! And don't worry; lots of parents are grumpy and confused. It's not personal."

"Carlos?" Margaret giggled. "That's a funny name! Maybe your children are exploring and haven't found you yet!"

Only a child could find that statement optimistic.

"It's not funny, it's Spanish," Cecil protested. "Oo, maybe," he answered to her suggestion. "That would be nifty, except I hope they find me soon!"

A child or someone from Night Vale, apparently.

"I dunno Spanish," Margaret said thoughtfully. "But I know some French! Je m'appelle Marguerite et j'ai six ans!" Pause. "That's all the French I know."

"That's more than me, though!" Cecil told her cheerfully. "I took Modified Sumerian instead."

"Where do they speak that?" Margaret asked, fascinated.

"I wanna go there!" Margaret declared. "Do they have cake?"

"Doesn't everybody?" Cecil wondered. He hated to think of a place without cake.

"If they didn't I can make cake with my brain," Margaret told him cheerfully.
