Library, Tuesday

William had been expecting a quiet day- well, as quiet as shifts in the Fandom High Library were, at any rate.

He was just settled at the circulation desk when there was a rap on the doorframe and a bored-looking delivery man carting a crate waved at him.

William frowned a little, because he was fairly certain he would have been informed if the librarian was expecting any new books to arrive today. The delivery guy was very insistent, though, and finally William capitulated and just let him leave the crate, stamped with "OCME" in large block letters, behind. With no other identifying information, much less anything resembling a shipping label, William wasn't about to open said crate though. He was just going to... leave it in an out-of-the-way spot by the counter as he went about normal library business.

Except that several minutes later, while out in the stacks, he heard a muffled thud and then a chorus of tiny cheers. Immediately suspicious, he peeked out to where he'd left the crate, only to find it open and tipped on it's side, a horde of tiny plastic army men heading for the section where all the military history books were kept. Curious, William watched as they clambered up on each other's shoulders, forming a sort of tiny-plastic-men-ladder to reach a book on one of the top shelves.

Seemed harmless enough, so William just shrugged and went back to reshelving. Fandom, man.
