Guess what, guys! No weird outfits from Jess this week. If you were gonna look at her funny, it'd just have to be over something she said.
"I'd like you all to start by passing up your book reports," she said, standing at the front to collect them. "As first books of the semester go, it's not too terrible, right? And then I just want to get an idea of what you thought of it. If you distilled her book report down to the summary of the story it was fairly clear that she'd read it thoroughly (and enjoyed it), but she kept digressing for long passages talking about various characters' behavior and exactly how she thought they were being ridiculous in a particular situation.
Nicely, though. Cosette didn't have much tolerance for people acting stupidly, but she was at least tactful and patient about it.
