Literature- Wednesday- 2nd period

Guess what, guys! No weird outfits from Jess this week. If you were gonna look at her funny, it'd just have to be over something she said.

"I'd like you all to start by passing up your book reports," she said, standing at the front to collect them. "As first books of the semester go, it's not too terrible, right? And then I just want to get an idea of what you thought of it. And at the end of class you're gonna pick up your copy of the meta for Moby Dick don't say it whatever joke is going through your mind right now don't say it."

Jim passed in his book report, pretty sure he'd done enough to at least get a passing grade. He'd read the book, gotten a little bored, but surged through and wrote something fairly detailed for his report.

Cosette had gotten a little carried away, which was saying something considering that the 15-page book report she turned in was handwritten.

If you distilled her book report down to the summary of the story it was fairly clear that she'd read it thoroughly (and enjoyed it), but she kept digressing for long passages talking about various characters' behavior and exactly how she thought they were being ridiculous in a particular situation.

Nicely, though. Cosette didn't have much tolerance for people acting stupidly, but she was at least tactful and patient about it.

Rilla turned in a tome rivaling Cosette's in detail and rambly-ness. She loved this kind of thing.

Okay, in all honestly, Scott had tried reading the book. He'd managed to get about halfway through?

But then he'd given up and just watched the movie.

It... probably showed, in his paper.
