When Billy came into the library this morning, everything had been nice and quiet. Then, right around the time he was putting away what had to be every book the library had on baking desserts, he heard someone talking in the next section over.
"Come on Sammy, don't give me those sad eyes."
Billy set his books down and peeked around the corner, but there wasn't anyone there. "Hello?" he called. When he didn't get an answer, he slowly crept back to where he'd been. If no one had heard him, then no one had seen him hearing things, right?
