Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There was the bonfire for everyone who thought Maryland in January was a little too cool for their taste, as well as the moddable warm food and drinks, and chairs and tables in the school colors of blue and gold. Some tables were also set a little further away from the crowds.

Because there were always people who preferred the fringes.

[OCD up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Sorry, Will, but right now your face was going to draw attention from at least one person.

Jessica approached cautiously, well aware that a guy who looked like Peter Parker could be anything from a time displaced version of her Peter to an alternate universe Peter to a clone to just some guy who looked like him. But still, she had to check. "Excuse me. Peter?"

Will didn't immediately answer because that wasn't his name. But, when it looked like the girl was actually talking to him, he blinked a few times and looked around.

"I'm sorry?" he asked, shaking his head. "I don't know any Peter's. You might have the wrong guy."

He was sorry about his face, Jessica.

"I realize this may sound like a crazy questions so please stay with me. But are you sure?" Jessica asked. "The name Peter Parker doesn't mean anything to you?"

"...should it?" Will asked, a little unsure himself now. Hey, a lot of things had been changing for him in a short, short time. "My name's Will West. So, other than our names being alliterative, I think that's where the similarities stop."

"You also look almost exactly like him," Jessica said. "But that kind of thing happens around here now and then. Sorry, I just had to check."

"I'm Jessica Drew. Not a crazy person, I swear."

"Hi." Will gave her a brief wave. "So, I look like someone?"

The scary part was that with all the recently uncovered secrets, he couldn't rule that out.

"Sorry that my face confused you. Or surprised you. In a few years, maybe plastic surgery will be an option."

Kidding.

"Yeah, my cousin," Jessica said. "You look like my dead cousin. Which is a little weird. But I'll adjust before you have to see a doctor, I promise."

"Oh." Will pursed his lips and looked apologetic. "Wow, I am so sorry. I mean, I had no idea of course but yeah, I'm sorry. I could wear a mask?"

"No, it's my deal, not yours," Jessica said. "Just don't think it's weird if I don't look you in the eye too much, okay?"

"It's okay, it won't be the weirdest thing that's happened to me lately," Will said apologetically. "It's actually pretty normal. I won't get offended or anything. Look wherever else you like."

"And I can pretty much guarantee it won't be the weirdest thing that'll happen to you in the next few months," Jessica said. "The important thing is that you can embrace some weirdness."

"Yeah, that won't be a problem at all," Will said, rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm pretty tolerant and open minded. Haven't met a boundary of mine yet."

"In that case, you'll be fine," Jessica said. "And at least you don't look like anyone who actually lives here."

"But thanks for the vote of confidence. I'll do my best to not have a crazy freakout and run for the hills."

"Well, if you do, just remember that the fastest way off the island is right across the causeway," Jessica said. "I don't know how many hills are there, though."

The water had to be cold.
