All told, it had been a fairly good Christmas, if bittersweet. Sholeh had gone out of her way to make certain that Evan had something familiar and that he didn't spend it alone, and even if it wasn't quite like the Christmases he remembered, it had been spent cozily curled up in good company.

And New Year's? Well, that had never been quite so big a deal while he was growing up, so he was mostly just gearing himself up for writing a different number down on anything that needed him to mark the date. Well, and re-shelving any books that were returned so far over the break. And if most of those books happened to have been borrowed by him...

Well. Passing the time was important, right?

Oh, John was around. Mostly going to-and-from his office into Special Collections, to put away some of the nastier books he'd pulled out of there to use as reference during the whole crisis. But you could probably catch him somewhere in the library.
