Library, 2/21

Angela is curled up behind the counter, sipping from a very large bottle of water and flipping through a graphic novel about a being called Fantasy who is one of seven siblings as old as the universe.

The library is open for all your book-type needs.

[OOC: This will probably be slowplay for at least part of the day from me -- look for another aide or mod appropriate assistance if necessary.]

Uh-oh. A bad guy has Fantasy's magic earrings and is using them to make people do really annoying things, like driving below the speed limit during rush hour or taking 15 items into the 10-item-or-less lane.

He must be stopped!

It's entirely possible Rory's making a list. But she's here, and paying attention, in case a library aide is needed.

At some point, Angela looks up from her book. "Hey, Rory? Have you seen the big monkey guy lately?"

Rory glanced around. "Um, no, but I heard he doesn't like being called that. So if he's here, we'll probably know really soon."

"That would be a heck of a way for him to show up," Angela acknowledged. "But seriously, I haven't seen him since I interviewed him for music, and that's almost two weeks ago. Should we be worried or anything?"

"Hmm." Rory leaned back in her chair, thoughtfully chewing on her pen. "Maybe he just disappeared? It's not like it hasn't happened before."

"That's what I'm thinking," Angela said. "Or maybe he quit, and the "principal" didn't bother telling us."

She sighed. "I miss Dr. Pierson."

"Me too," Rory said sadly. "So what should we do? I mean, we all kind of have been running the library ourselves, but we really need an adult around. Maybe go to another faculty member?"

"I think so, yeah," Angela said regretfully. "There's a bunch of mail for him that needs to be dealt with somehow, anyhow."

"Who should we talk to? DO you think Mr. Finn would care?"

"Yeah, I'm guessing no," Rory said, chewing on her lip. "I haven't met the Dean who lives in a tube, but Dean Washburn is really nice. She might help us out. Or Dr. Pierce. He was great the night of study group, and when Han Solo was in the girls' bathroom." She made a face.

"Dean Zordon's okay. For a guy in a tube," Angela shrugged. "Is Washburn the really pretty one? I think she's Dean of Faculty, so she might know if he just quit. We should go see her ~~sometime when most of us are free and her office hours are up.~~"

Rory nodded. "She's really pretty and really tall and very..." She searched for the word. "She has presence, you know? Like she's very nice and calm and stuff, but she's one of those people who could be really scary if she wanted to. And yeah, I think going to her would be the best idea, at some point."

Angela nodded. "We should check in with Zero and Janet and Parker first. Make sure the Librairan isn't just randomly hiding from the two of us."

"If he is gone, it sounds like Dean Washburn would be a really good person to have here. Plus, I kind of want to meet her now."

"That'd be horrible, if he was hiding from us. Do you think we did something wrong?" Rory wondered.

"I don't know!" Angela said. "I mean, he wasn't exactly big on, like, talking things out." She thought for a moment. "Or talking."

"I met him like, once," Rory said. "I can't imagine I did anything wrong."

"Me either, but who really knows?" Angela asked. "I mean, like I said, he doesn't really talk."

She glanced back at Special Collections. "Logan's been in there a long time. Do you know why he would want books on magic?"

Logan was still in Special Collections through 6th period.

Callisto dropped by the library, looking for a copy of that blasted play. She hoped this Helena wasn't some foolish, love-lorn doormat.

Angela waved, and only did a slight double-take at the writing all over Callisto. "Hi. Can I, um..."

The double-take became mrioe than slight as she began to contemplate whetehr the bit on Cal's forehead was even anatomically *possible.*

"Midsummer's Night Dream, do you have it?"

Angela kept reading as she spoke.

"For the play? Yeah, we should still have a couple copies. It's with the rest of Shakespeare, second shelf to the ... breast, I mean left."

Callisto didn't wince. Really. "Thanks Angela."

"No problem," Angela said.

And totally did not tilt her head to get a closer look at whatever was written on Cal's arms. Or, at least, she quit really fast once she realized what she was doing.

"Let me know if you need any other help."

"Will do," Callisto nodded.
