Library, 2/21

Angela is curled up behind the counter, sipping from a very large bottle of water and flipping through a graphic novel about a being called Fantasy who is one of seven siblings as old as the universe.

The library is open for all your book-type needs.

[OOC: This will probably be slowplay for at least part of the day from me -- look for another aide or mod appropriate assistance if necessary.]

Fantasy's still doing the reclaiming thing; now he's in London looking for the incense that helps him build fantasies.

Something about the police officer who helps him reminds Angela vaguely of Professor Logan.

Logan leaned on the desk and gave the bell a quick tap.

Angela looks up from her book. "Hey. Can I help you, or anything?"

Logan handed her the note signed by Hawkeye. It requested that Logan Echolls be admitted to the practical magic portion of Special Collections. "I need to do some research," he said.

Angela raised an eyebrow, but the note looked legitimate. "Okaaaay," she said in a long exhale, then passed him a pair of dragon-skin gloves. "I know you have a card, right?"

Logan pulled his library card from his wallet and presented it to her before putting on the gloves.

Angela glanced it over then handed it back to him. "Cool. Um, I know things went weird last time you were back here, but the Library's been pretty quiet this year," she said, as she led him toward the doors toward Special Collections. "Just remember to run out if the lights get dim."

She was at the doors, now. "Ready to go in?"

Logan nodded. "Got it. I'm ready."

"Let's go," Angela said. She walked through the doors, checking the list of call numbers she had printed out against the shelves.

"Okay, I think what you want is on that set of bookshelves, with the dark blue stickers," she said. "They should be on the third row down."

"Shout if you need anything?"

"Thanks," Logan said. He strode over to the books with the dark blue stickers, pulled one off the shelf and started looking through it.

Rory bounded into the library, beaming.

"It's a boy!" she said happily, sitting behind the desk. "I'm going to have a brother!"

That made Angela close her book. "That's great!" she said. "Does he look healthy and everything?"

"He looks like wavy black lines," Rory shrugged. "But according to the doctor, he's fine."

"Yeah, they don't really look like babies, um, ever, as far as I can tell," Angela shrugged. "But still. Good news. I bet your mom and Luke are thrilled." She frowned. "Not that they wouldn't be thrilled by a girl."

"Luke already got a baseball glove," Rory giggled. "And yeah, if they had a girl, my mom was kind of worried about if she'd be Rory Redux."

"Oh, no, another Rory! How would they survive that?," Angela giggled.

"It was more of the poor thing being expected to live up to expectations," Rory said, rolling her eyes. "Which is just silly."

Vala had taken a seat in a corner with a few notepads and just started reviewing when the daily announcement (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/658110.html) came over the PA system.

She rolls her eyes, glad she safely missed auditions for the next round of school-sponsored public humiliation.

Parker offered a wary, "Hi," when she went by with a stack of books, not sure what Vala's mood is like.

Vala looked up. "Hi." Her response pretty much matches Parker's in tone.

Parker relaxed a little bit, and asked, "So, have a good time... out there?" She's really got very little idea where Vala went, or why, just that it's part of why she and Cam broke up. Cam asking her to check on Vala was not specific enough for her to know how to do this.

Vala frowned, resisting the urge to tug her right sleeve down any further. "Yeah. I went home for the weekend."

She really isn't sure what else to say.

"Oh. Well, I was sorry to miss you." She shrugged lightly. "Glad you're back. It's weird enough without Aeryn here. We didn't need to lose another person so soon."

"Yeah, I heard about that. It really sucks." Vala's completely unaware of how Aeryn-esque she's being in her responses today.

"So, anyway. If you need anything, let me know." Parker shrugged. "Break-ups are rough, and I know it's hitting your ex hard. But you're a friend too, so...."
