Cultural Exploration [Friday, 2nd Period]

Anyone who was good at reading people might have noticed that Clint's smile was a little faked today as everyone made their way through the portal. "Hey guys, our original portal wasn't working this morning, so we've made a little detour instead to Budapest," he said. "This is the capital of Hungary, in Europe, and while the city's pretty old there's still a lot to see and do. It's also a pretty safe place to visit." Not that he knew anything about that personally, really. "Today, we're going to pretend like we're really cultured. If you're already cultured, congratulations, you've got a head start."

Dress Up

There were racks and chests of dresses and suits in most teenage sizes, and changing rooms for the ladies and the gentlemen. Clint didn't want to see anything inappropriate, thank you.

Rilla was already overdressed for class most days, but going to the theatre meant another level of dressing up.

She came out in white--she hadn't worn colour since Walter died--but the dress was fancy enough to soothe her worries about not being appropriate.

An Afternoon at the Opera

Once everyone was ready, it was a short trip to the Hungarian State Opera House for their rendition of The Nutcracker. No language barrier to worry about!
