Live Entertainment Appreciation, Thursday, Period 5

"Today," Jono said, looking a little shy of completely exhausted as he stood on the Causeway waiting for his portal, "we're going to go to see some manner of sporting event."

Some manner. He'd just called up Portalocity and had asked for something that would keep his students entertained while he grumbled about bad dreams and insomnia to himself for a bit.

"Same rules as usual for sporting events apply, I assume. Feel free to pick a team or an athlete, cheer, what-have-you." The portal opened, and Jonothon promptly waved his students through it…

… to Olympia, circa 708 B.C.

At which point, he buried his face in his hand.

"And if you're not mature enough to handle an hour of watching naked male athletes racing or wrestling one another, the portal is right back that way. This is a history lesson, not a burlesque show."

Which was about all he really cared to say. Welcome to the ancient Olympic Games.

Yes. Yes, you did. XD

Like Karina was paying any attention to the lecture thing between the athletes (oh my god) and Ethan, her shrieky, needy Ethics assignment toddler.

She was bribing Ethan with judiciously spaced cookies to keep him relatively happy and calm. It was sort of working. Emphasis on 'sort of'.

Karina's concession to motherhood was to keep Ethan entertained by pointing out interesting things that weren't the naked athletes.

For her sake, she was recording the athletes on her phone since it was totally unfair that she couldn't give the… sporting events… her undivided attention during class.

And what a terrible thing to be subjected to!

That is totally a missed opportunity! Though it could always happen in the future...

Bay was an artist and totally cool with the human body.

Really. She was. She'd just never seen a guy running with his ... thing flapping around like that before, much less a whole group of guys. It made for quite a sight.

Minako Aino

Minako had turned BRIGHT RED and was steadfastly staring at her shoes. Look, once upon a time - millions of years ago - she'd been the goddess Venus, queen of all things love and naked, but right now she was just Minako and soooooooooooooo not capable of dealing with Naked Things.

There were all, like, totally cute and very fit and wow his arms but -- naked. And Minako was still very much a sheltered Japanese teenager.

Her hand shot up in the air. "Ano, sensei," she stuttered. "Permission to be excused, and I'll write a report on the origin of the games?"

Minako hates writing papers, Jono. HATES. Especially in her second language. Pleasepleaseplease let her out of here?

Snow White

Re: Lecture!

Snow had seen a lot of new things since coming to Fandom, some of it harder to grasp than others. She did try to understand as best she could when introduced to something new.

Naked athletes were fairly easy to grasp (so to speak). But she'd never seen a naked man before. She'd never even peeked at Toby in their shared room. She just stared at the glistening-with-oil, very athletic, naked men for a moment before she caught herself, turned bright red, and turned around.

Cecil was completely mature about this. He was, after all, not actually fourteen. And he had a boyfriend!

...he wasn't DEAD, are you kidding? He cheered for the best-looking ones and took a lot of surreptitious pictures with his phone.

His concession to maturity and being in a relationship was not propositioning the ancient Greeks who would have no problem sleeping with him, damn it!

Zhari was trying very, very hard to be grownup and mature about these things. But all it took was for a giggling Zeela to say 'Flopping!' and she was pretty much gone.
