Live Entertainment Appreciation, Thursday, Period 5
"Today," Jono said, looking a little shy of completely exhausted as he stood on the Causeway waiting for his portal, "we're going to go to see some manner of sporting event."
Some manner. He'd just called up Portalocity and had asked for something that would keep his students entertained while he grumbled about bad dreams and insomnia to himself for a bit.
"Same rules as usual for sporting events apply, I assume. Feel free to pick a team or an athlete, cheer, what-have-you." The portal opened, and Jonothon promptly waved his students through it…
… to Olympia, circa 708 B.C.
At which point, he buried his face in his hand.
"And if you're not mature enough to handle an hour of watching naked male athletes racing or wrestling one another, the portal is right back that way. This is a history lesson, not a burlesque show."
Which was about all he really cared to say. Welcome to the ancient Olympic Games.

Lecture!
Re: Lecture!
Ethics assignmenttoddler. She was bribing Ethan with judiciously spaced cookies to keep him relatively happy and calm. It was sort of working. Emphasis on 'sort of'.
Re: Lecture!
There were all, like, totally cute and very fit and wow his arms but -- naked. And Minako was still very much a sheltered Japanese teenager.
Her hand shot up in the air. "Ano, sensei," she stuttered. "Permission to be excused, and I'll write a report on the origin of the games?"
Minako hates writing papers, Jono. HATES. Especially in her second language. Pleasepleaseplease let her out of here?
Re: Lecture!
Jono hated grading papers about as much as Minako hated writing them, but he could at least allow that this particular field trip was his own bloody fault.
Re: Lecture!
Naked athletes were fairly easy to grasp (so to speak). But she'd never seen a naked man before. She'd never even peeked at Toby in their shared room. She just stared at the glistening-with-oil, very athletic, naked men for a moment before she caught herself, turned bright red, and turned around.
