Sholeh didn't normally use computers. They were fascinating, but she always felt like she was going to break one if she pushed the wrong button or clicked the wrong...thing...to click. But today, she was trying to use the computer to look up reviews of books on the internet, but it just wasn't working. It would be fine for a few minutes, then stop working, then be fine again. It was like the internet was a flickering candle and--

Could internets flicker? That was something for her to ask. Once she stopped being so darn frustrated by everything.

She glared at the "No Internet Connection" box that rose back up and wondered if there was someone she could write a letter to for the information instead.

Cecil was passing by the library (giving it a respectful berth) when he heard Sholeh muttering. He peeked in to make sure nothing was attacking today, then hurried over to her.

"Hi!" he whispered. "Is everything okay?"

"This stupid computer is being stupid," Sholeh grumbled, scowling at the screen.

For her, this was a dreadful indictment.

"It keeps...not working with the internet."

Cecil frowned at it and chewed his lip. "Did you make the proper sacrifices?"

"...I have to make sacrifices?" Sholeh gasped. "I don't--is Night Vale run on a sacrifice-based economy or something?"

[So sorry for the long silence. CRAZY WEEK HAS BEEN CRAZY!]

"Isn't everywhere?" Cecil pointed out. "I mean, a lot of them are money sacrifices, granted, but still."

[NP! Miss you! :) ]

"Huh."

Which meant that Cecil had a point.

"...Is that the kind of sacrifice you meant? For the computer?"

Cecil shrugged. "I'm not sure. My computer just works; I paid up back home. Do you think this one needs money or entrails or something else?" He peered at it. "I don't know who to ask about these things around here," he concluded apologetically.

"Why would a computer need entrails?"

She'd explain she could just ask Mr. Constantine later, but her question really needed answering first.

Really, really.

Cecil rolled his eyes. "Who knows why they need anything? Press this button, click that thing, shove entrails in - it's all pretty esoteric, if you ask me."

"Shove the entrails in where?!" Sholeh all-but wailed.

Not that she was considering this. Not at all! ~~Okay maybe a little if it would just make the stupid thing WORK!~~

Cecil eyed Sholeh a little warily; she was a librarian, after all, so he didn't want her to get too upset. "Through the mouth?" He checked the sides and back of the computer. "I'm not sure where this one keeps its."

His computers had mouths. Of course his computers had mouths. What normal computer lacked a mouth?

Sholeh was never visiting Cecil's home. Ever.

"I don't think this computer has a mouth," she explained.

"Huh." Cecil looked a bit confused, then just shrugged again. "Maybe it's not the entrails kind, then. Is it a Mac?"

"Err, I didn't ask its name, either," Sholeh said apologetically.
