Valentine's Day Dance. The Gym. 8.30 pm

The gym was decorated, the DJs were playing, and the punch was not yet spiked.

Fandom High's Valentine's Day Dance had begun.

Everyone at the dance is in one corner, practically, so that's where Angela goes while Marty is off retrieving something from his room.

She tries to look as sullen and awkward as everyone else there.

Angela waved back, then walked over. "You look really nice," she said.

She shrugged. "Thanks. Trying to do something a bit different, as you may have guess. You look great. Not everyone can wear black."

Angela shook her head. "The neckline makes me feel kind of naked, but Marty liked it. I love that you own leather pants -- they look killer."

"I'm sure he did," Sam grinned at her, "but you still look wonderful. And not nearly naked, honestly. The pants go with the motorcycle that I'm still rebuilding."

"That is cool," Angela pontificated. "I have a scooter, but I've never been on anything bigger. How'd you learn to ride?"

"I had a boyfriend who had one," Sam said, remembering him fondly. "We broke up, but my love of motorcycles stayed with me."

"If I ever get it up and running, you're welcome to come with me sometime."

Peter walked over by Angela. "Hey, this is the corner for miserable people," he said with a smile. "Go. Mingle with the happy, coupled people!"

Angela gave Peter a look full of woe. "But my boyfriend has disappeared," she said, pouting. "Can't I pretend to be miserable until he gets back?"

"Fine. If you must." Peter grinned. "No, seriously, all are welcome over to this corner. Assuming they don't get schmoopy. Then Sam may attempt to drown them in the punch bowl."

"That sounds like a threat," Angela grinned. "I'll make sure we avoid the shmoop. Drowning is so not what I want to do tonight."

"I think it's a wise decision," Peter said solemnly. "And if you want to schmoop, you can always hop into another corner of the gym. Just be solemn before returning here."

"Thank you. I figure that if I'm going to be miserable, I might as well look decent while doing so. You look great, too."
