Valentine's Day Dance. The Gym. 8.30 pm

The gym was decorated, the DJs were playing, and the punch was not yet spiked.

Fandom High's Valentine's Day Dance had begun.

"I'll third that opinion on Phil Collins, the literal-evil thing is definitely up for debate though." She grinned, "I'm sure we could find someone in fandom who could settle it one way or the other though."

"He has to be evil. Think of all work he's done for Disney over the last ten years." Isabel shuddered, "I'm willing to bet he wrote music for Bambi II. That's a definite sign of evil."

"There was a Bambi II? Oh, that's bad in itself. Disney movies are definitely not sequel material." She shook her head, "yeah, evil."

"The only Disney sequel I liked is Toy Story 2," Isabel agreed. "And I think that was mostly due to the Pixar people. Yes, there is a Bambi II, in stores now. And that is so wrong on so many levels I can't even begin to describe it."

"I think I missed seeing Toy Story completely, one of these days I'll have to remedy that... I think I'll avoid Bambi II however," she added with a slight grimace.

"You haven't seen them? We'll have to fix that one of these days. Maybe a double feature in the common room one weekend?" Isabel asked. "And I totally agree about Bambi II. Never, ever..."

"We should do that, I always seem to be at a loose end at weekends. Movie marathons are the way forward." Mac smiled, "a good disney movie is always a good distraction from doing any real work."

"You'll love the Toy Story movies. On the surface, they're for kids. But some of the jokes can only be appreciated by more mature people. What are you doing next weekend?" Isabel asked. "As long as snow monsters don't attack, I'm free on Saturday."

Mac grinned, "I should be around then, I'm generally your 'stay out of detention' kinda girl. Monsters however, a little less predictable."

"I've heard a rumour that a lot of the Disney films had that going for them, jokes that go right over the heads of the children watching. I've never been able to find any of them though. That probably says a little something about me," she added.

"You and me both," Isabel grinned. "At least as long I can avoid the stupid detention lottery. And the movies are hilarious. There's this one bit where Mr. Potatohead pretends he's Picasso..." She stopped, "I sound like a dork don't I?"

Mac grinned, "Oh, I'd so bet on that... uh, well if I had money I would anyway."

"No, you've got that backwards," Sam grinned back. "We know the answer, so we raise the question, and everyone else gives us their money. We take our cut off the top."

"Oh, I like this idea," Mac looked around quickly, "Who can we con into this though. I'm thinking convincing people he isn't evil is going to be the main problem."

"We need an authority on that kind of thing. There's a green guy at the bar who probably knows for sure."

"You think? People round here really do have some handy specialisations."

"You sing, and he tells you your future, from what I've heard."

Mac's eyes widened, "Seriously? That definitely gets ranked as one of the top 20 awesome-handy powers."

Sam started laughing. "Not if you can't sing. You should have heard Angel last semester."

"Ooh, someone with the insider knowledge apparently! We didn't even have to go searching for it." Mac grinned at the newcomer, "Welcome to the best corner of the room, we mock the the love-fest because we care... and because it makes the whole thing more interesting I guess," she added with a shrug.

Zero waved a hand at the banner over their heads. "Hi. I made the decorations."

She directed her line of vision upwards for a moment, and laughed. "I like you already. I'm Mac."

"I'm Zero. Nice t'meet you, Mac."

Isabel grinned, "He already works for Disney. So you're right, it's really not that big a step to the working for Satan."
