Valentine's Day Dance. The Gym. 8.30 pm

The gym was decorated, the DJs were playing, and the punch was not yet spiked.

Fandom High's Valentine's Day Dance had begun.

[ooc: OCD threads coming are up. Post before I've finshed and I will burninate you. away! :)]

"Thank you," Peter said, smiling.

"You and Zero are my heroes, you know that?"

"Please, we had to. Can you imagine what this place would be like if we didn't?" she laughed, "A sea of pink hearts." She finally spotted one of the poster's she'd made, hidden behind some balloons. "Here's one. (http://www.meish.org/vd/sendcard.php) And I'm know there's more (http://www.meish.org/vd/) if you poke around."

Peter laughed. A lot. "Oh, that's great. The local news should do a story on how awesome you two are. Of course, we don't have local news outside of the pirate and his crew, so that probably won't happen."

"I figured you'd like those. The first link (which seems to now be working) was to the one that says Valentine's Day Suck with funny small print. It seemed appropriate. No news crews, please," she laughed. "It's bad enough hearing my name on the radio."

From a corner, there might be a shrub snickering and wielding a blue quill pen.

But everyone knows that shrubs can't laugh. Or write.

So you're really not seeing anything.

A spider-sense is useful in many ways. For one, it can give a light alert when somebody is watching you, perhaps in a spying way. If the spy is fast enough, the alert can't hone in on anything. But sometimes, if the spy is stationary for long enough, and if it looks out of place, and if it's laughing, Peter can spot exactly where the spy is.

"Excuse me," he told Isabel. He then walked nonchalantly toward the shrub and accidentally stumbled and spilled some punch in the shrub's direction, darn the luck.

The shrub stop snickering.

Damply.

Isabel raised an eyebrow and wondered what the poor shrub had done to deserve that. "So how was journalism class today? Did anyone get turned into an animal?"

Re: Snark Corner

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Sorry. I'm clumsy when laughing shrubs are around," Peter said as he returned. "Nope, our class is still without any animal transformations. That's John Crichton's class you're thinking of."

"That's the shrub that I've heard people talk about? Weird," she said, before shaking her head. "I knew that. Really. Just happened to forget for a moment. It's all the pink, that's it, it's effecting my brain."

Re: Snark Corner

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
"I've always said that pink is dangerous to mental well-being," Peter said. "Ask anyway, I've been saying it for years."

Re: Snark Corner

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Years, hmm?" Isabel smirked. "What else can you tell me, Oh Wise Fifteen Year Old? The answers to life, the universe, and everything perhaps?"

Re: Snark Corner

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
"The real question, of course, is 'what is the great question of life, the universe, and everything?'" Peter shrugged. "No clue what that is, though, since we had a couple HHGTTG characters in FH canon last semester and thus I'm not saying 'Forty-two'."

Re: Snark Corner

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Well if you ever figure it out, be sure to let me know."

Isabel frowned, "This conversation is borderline serious. That's not good you realize. So here, random silliness, I once played an onion in a school play."

Re: Snark Corner

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Peter tilted his head slightly. "An onion?"

Re: Snark Corner

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Isabel nodded solemnly. "An onion. It was my first year in school, just a few months after Max and I had been adopted. I was still in my shy phase and wouldn't talk much. So I was the onion. All I had to do was stand around with the other vegetables. I think the celery made the big speech. How about you," she asked. "ever have to do anything similar?"

Re: Snark Corner

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Thankfully, no. And if I did, I'm not telling anyone," Peter said. "But it does sound adorable."

Re: Snark Corner

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Isabel rolled her eyes. "The picture is still on the wall in my dad's study because he thinks it's adorable. I've considered burning it."

She looked around the crowd, which was mostly in the corner. "Well it looks like the dance is a success."

Re: Snark Corner

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
"So I guess our side wins? Victory to the single people?" Peter asked. "Go us!"

Re: Snark Corner

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm starting to think the single people out number the happy couples. We might win just by simple majority." Isabel laughed. "So yeah, Yay us!"

Re: Snark Corner

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
"We deserve a trophy," Peter said, nodding. "Granted, that would mean trading off constantly to make sure everyone got some time with it, but still."

Re: Snark Corner

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Like the sports teams do with their trophies? I always wonder if there's a list in the locker room and everyone signs up for times and if they fight over who gets to take it out to the bars with them."

Re: Snark Corner

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Pretty much, yeah," Peter said. "Okay. I should probably get around and mingle a bit more. I'll see you around, okay?"

Re: Snark Corner

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-02-18 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll be here, although for now I think I might go out there (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/653795.html?thread=30834659#t30834659) for a bit and actually dance," Isabel grinned as she started towards the dance floor. "Have fun."
