"Good morning," Anakin said, sitting behind his desk once again. "School has been in session almost a month, which means that you've probably run across someone who has had a difference of opinion or ethics than you in at least one major way. When I was a student, I was an apprentice in an Order that forbade attachment--it meant that I wasn't allowed to date."

Anakin smiled a little ruefully. "I'm married with four children, so clearly that changed somewhere along the way. Today I want us to discuss differences you've encountered either with students, teachers or people in town. Was there something about you they found different? If so, do you think it's something you think will change over time or is it something that is linked permanently with how you see yourself?"

Think of people you've met that Aren't Like You.

There were a lot of people both here and in New York that weren't like him. Didn't bother him as long as they left him alone to do his own thing. If they got in his way, that's when there'd be some trouble.

You mean all the people who whose parents hadn't left them by the sides of roads and might even turn up to that Parent's Weekend thing? Because she'd had met lots of those on the island.

Talk about the culture clashes you've experienced!

"Casual power usage," Karina said, because hey, she had something to talk about. "Here, I mean. Some people back home have powers but it's not a thing you use blatantly unless you're one of the Heroes. It's kinda weird here that it just doesn't matter."

"I think it depends on the power," Anakin said. "People are not as blase about, say, reading their minds as they are about moving things around with your brain."

"Everyone always seems a little thrown by the war vet bounty hunter thing, but part of that is my past and the other part is a job I love, so that's not changing for me. Maybe people will get more used to it, though," Mira suggested. "But the first thing had to deal with was people telling me that I was lying about being from another galaxy." She wasn't naming names, EMMA. "Hopefully those people have gotten used to that kind of thing now that they have other classmates and teachers who also aren't from around here."

Anakin smiled. "I got that too," he said. "About the other galaxy, not being a bounty hunter."
