Fall 2013 Club Fair, Gym, Friday Afternoon

Jackson had entirely forgotten about the club thing over the summer. So, yeah, there wasn't going to be any organized lacrosse this fall. Probably for the best since they seemed to have like half of Beacon Hills' team going here now from various world's and it could have gotten messy.

And Jackson also kind of stumbled upon the club fair by accident. But since he was here, he grabbed a copy of the schedule and decided to at least give a cursory glance to what was on offer this time around. Even if he probably wasn't going to sign up for anything. There were better ways of celebrating having managed almost an entire full moon under control. But still.

"I'm a science nerd, Loki's the god of mischief, and last year we had rebels and dinosaurs on the squad. So we have no problem with reputations," Jessica explained. "Although now I'm curious what your reputation was. If you're okay with sharing, I promise not to judge."

Raven shrugged. "I was a freak," she said. It was easier to talk about after so long of not being the freak here in Fandom. "Not a lot of foster children in upper-class Westchester, New York, 1953. They didn't know where I'd been."

And, really, you accidentally turn blue in class a time or two, and they never let you forget it.

"Oh, definitely no judging for that," Jessica said. "I have no parents to speak of and Loki... well, read up on Norse mythology sometime. This is pretty much the least stuck up Cheerleading squad possible. Thank you, Fandom."

"So Loki really is actually Loki?" Raven had still had it in her head that he might be full of crap. "He said he was, but then he wouldn't do anything particularly godly to prove it."

"He's not the Loki from my world, but enough of what he says checks out that I can buy it," Jessica said. "And I've seen weirder things than teenage gods, so I don't have much reason to think he's lying."

"He also said his natural form is blue." Which had actually gotten Raven all excited, but then he wouldn't show it to her. Rude! "Something about being part ice-giant."

"He's also short for a frost giant," Jessica pointed out. "Not that it means much. I'm pretty sure he can look like whatever he wants."

"It's slightly weird, only because he's the supposed big bad of an entire mythology," Jessica said. "But the worst he's ever done to me is be pushy about my love life for his own entertainment. It's hard to think of Ragnarok when he just wants me to get together with a guy who owns a motorcycle."

Raven had never heard the term "big bad" before. "He seemed nice enough to me. Mostly just kind of irritated that I kept wanting him to do god things."

Like turn blue. Come on, you didn't just say you could be blue and then not prove it.

"This is just a guess, but I doubt he really wants to show off exactly what he can do until something comes up where he has to," Jessica said. "If you have an ace and as many enemies as he does based on who he is, it doesn't hurt to hold on to the ace. I could see myself doing that in his position."

Mostly because she WAS doing that!

"Not really. If you brag enough and don't back it up, people start to wonder if you're bluffing," Jessica explained. "And then you can start pulling the double and triple bluffs to confuse the issue entirely and that's the point where I stop paying attention. But that would be right down his alley."

It did sound like a Loki sort of thing, didn't it.

"Not too terrible a strategy," Raven mused. "Though you'd have to be able to keep track of all the bluffs. It's easier if you can just be a whole new person each time."

"I'm guessing you've learned a thing or two about that being a foster kid, right?" Jessica asked. "Again, not judging. I've reinvented myself a few times. I think that's how I stumbled into being a freaking cheerleader."
