Library, Wednesday

Today, Sholeh was in no mood for any funny business. She had a book report due tomorrow and it was her highest priority today. Anytime she had to venture into the stacks, she'd give the bookshelves a glare worthy of Cecil's librarians that promised dire punishments if they decided to move around on her again.

The rustling of the books didn't sound very intimidated, but the library behaved itself anyway.

Good enough for her.

"Huh?" Constantine offered eloquently, looking up from his zine. "Nah, Sho, you're not a bother. Come on in."

That earned him a smile, a ducked head, and a blush. "'M sure I could be if I tried," she mumbled. "I, err, had a few questions?"

"Fire away, sweetheart," he offered, tossing the magazine on to his desk and leaning back in his chair, gesturing for her to take the overstuffed chair that was... maybe had a few books strewn on it. "Bugger, sorry about the mess in here."

No he wasn't.

"It's okay," Sholeh assured him. "I can bring the books back with me and put them away, if you like?"

She stacked them neatly onto one side of the chair and took a seat. "I have three things to talk about. The first one is the easiest. One of the students has read almost all of our science and anthropology books. I was hoping we could maybe get more in for her?"

Sholeh didn't want Liara to be disappointed in the library!

"I've got a budget for books," he answered, although it might have sounded more like a question than a statement. "Science is rather a broad topic though, sunshine. How about you two get me a list of topics that you feel is lacking, and then I'll teach you how to make orders."

And that way, Constantine could shift even more of his work off on to the students! Score!

Sholeh looked at him, awed and amazed. "You'd let me order books?" It came out as a squeak. "Really? Books for the library?"

Not only could he shift it off to her, but she'd be grateful if he did!

Constantine was... not comfortable with the amount of glee and squeaking coming out of a tween girl. At all.

"Yeah, well, don't break my budget, yeah?" he said, running a hand through his hair. "I'll ask the other aides for recommendations, too."

Hey! She was sixteen! ...Physically!

"I won't!" Sholeh said, completely forgetting to ask what the budget actually was. That was okay, everything else she'd come in to ask about was forgotten as well. "I'm going to start making that list right now!"

And before Constantine could stop her--or even remind her that she'd mentioned more than one question--Sholeh was running out the door to grab a pen and paper and start working.
