Teamwork, Monday, Period 2

The teamwork classroom was mostly bare today, with bins of Legos scattered throughout the space. Jack faced the class with her arms folded. Being a guy for the weekend had left her pissed off as all hell; she'd try not to take it out on the students, but it was an open question whether she'd succeed.

"Sometimes, your team has some crappy job to do that everybody needs to help with," she began. "Doesn't matter if it's not really your job, or if you feel like the whole thing is dumb. If you want the job to be done this year, everybody has to chip in without wasting time whining."

She hit a button on her datapad and projected an image onto the wall. "Today, your crappy little job is building a scale model of a spaceship out of Legos. There are six of you and you have an hour and the blueprints. Figure out who should do what, go to work, and if you're efficient you should get pretty far by the end of class."

Okay, Isaac had no leadership abilities whatsoever. So he was just going to pretend to look serious business with legos until someone told him what to do.

"I'm getting serious maturity whiplash from this class," Gert noted as she plopped down next to Isaac. "Want a partner?"

"Well, I mean--" Isaac looked around at everybody else. "Isn't the point for all six of us to build this thing together?"

AKA somebody just tell him what to do and he'd shut up and do it.

"I guess, but--" he'd kind of looked like he needed some guidance on this project-- "sitting around and doing this assembly-line-style sounds like it's gonna suck."

She shrugged. "So my questions would be, A, do you have any Lego experience, and B, do you think the wings would be easy to kind of tackle?"
