fandomhigh | Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Once again, the front lawn of the school had been set up to welcome the new students and teachers who were--assuming the bus trip went safely--arriving in Fandom for the first time. The goal was to create a friendly atmosphere to ease everyone into Fandom life, so the helpers had arranged the school's blue and gold tables everywhere, along with streamers and just a touch of glitter. Someday, the school would run out of glitter, but it would not be this day. There was also plenty of food to be shared next to the information tables, listing out siblings and teaching buddies and roommates, oh my.

Of course, no welcome picnic was allowed to run truly smoothly and the island, seemingly not wanting to miss out on the festivities, was blessing everyone with flower crowns. But hey, at least it wasn't raining something odd, right?

[OOC: This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic will be in post two in an effort to stop our browsers from dying. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers and townies!]

"Oh god I've been here a year and I only just told my dad about this stuff like three days ago," Stiles said. "Don't tell your parents, they'll put you in the loony bin."

"How'd he take it?"

"Uh he got mad and didn't believe me at first," Stiles admitted. "But he believed me eventually."

"So... lie. A lot." Raleigh could do that. With his parents. Yancy? No so much.

"At least at first," Stiles recommended. "I mean, you probably still think I'm lying a little bit, right? Take some time to see the weird for yourself."

"A little." But mostly for his own sanity.

"You'll get used to it," he said. "Sometimes cool stuff happens, like food falling out of the sky."

"That I could live with." Teenagers. "So, everyone is from some different universe?"

"Not everybody. I'm from the same universe as another guy here," he said. "But most everybody is, yeah. Or from the same universe but a different timeline. That happens a lot too."

Wait until Raleigh met Herc. Just you wait.

"That just sounds confusing."

"It really is sometimes," he admitted. "Are you totally freaked out right now?"

"I think I'll start freaking out when I have to go to my dorm room," Raleigh admitted.

"Freaking out in private, good move," he said with a nod. "Hope your roommate understands."

"She's--uh--" The hot chick over there, Stiles. Look at what Raleigh was going to have to hide from in the morning. BECAUSE DREAMS WERE THE ENEMY.

"Oh. She's hot." Extremely hot, hi. "Yeah if you're gonna cry I'd do it in the bathroom."

"Probably the best idea, yeah."

Stiles smiled and slapped his hand against Raleigh's arm in what was supposed to be a comforting way. "You'll be fine. Just go with the flow."
