Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Once again, the front lawn of the school had been set up to welcome the new students and teachers who were--assuming the bus trip went safely--arriving in Fandom for the first time. The goal was to create a friendly atmosphere to ease everyone into Fandom life, so the helpers had arranged the school's blue and gold tables everywhere, along with streamers and just a touch of glitter. Someday, the school would run out of glitter, but it would not be this day. There was also plenty of food to be shared next to the information tables, listing out siblings and teaching buddies and roommates, oh my.

Of course, no welcome picnic was allowed to run truly smoothly and the island, seemingly not wanting to miss out on the festivities, was blessing everyone with flower crowns. But hey, at least it wasn't raining something odd, right?

[OOC: This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic will be in post two in an effort to stop our browsers from dying. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers and townies!]

There was a roommate list on one of the tables, for everyone to find their new best friend:

Great, he was on this island for five minutes and something weird had already happened. Some part of him was hoping the whole weirdness thing had been an elaborate joke. At least he didn't seem to be the only person wearing a crown.

He slapped a name tag on his cardigan and waited for his sibling with the unpronounceable name. Was it like a weird spelling of Shiloh like Brangelina's kid or...

Stiles didn't mind the flower crown so much. He had more things to worry about than a fun bit of Fandom weirdness, really, and he was pretty sure the crown distracted from how tired he looked.

He didn't remember signing up for the sibling thing, but he didn't mind it. He was always up for giving a lecture on Weird Stuff 101. He just hoped Raleigh was told Stiles' nickname instead of his actual name because there was nobody around with that monstrosity written on their name tag.

Kitty'd had a pretty rough week, she apparently had a shiny new radio job, and now she had a flower crown.

You know what, she was just gonna go with it, and prepare to explain this to her poor teaching buddy.

Even if she had a flower crown ~~despite the lack of icon look deal with it~~, Sia looked like wearing it was totally natural. She also made sure to have her nametag on, which had "Marasiah" and then "Sia" written under it because she knew by now that that made it easier when talking to the little sib. Now to find an Isabelle.

Honestly, the flower crowns were just about the most Fandom weirdness that Sholeh could handle today. If left to her own devices, she probably would have opted to stay in her room today--or, at least submerged in her sisters' aspects. But being a Big Sibling was a Big Responsibility and she'd feel really terrible if she abandoned it.

So that was why there was a thin redhead dressed in highly impractical clothes (and a flower crown!) carrying a platter of cookies and looking for an Isaac. Okay, the cookies had been Zhahar's contribution, but it wasn't like Isaac was going to know that.

"Hi Isaac!" Sholeh said when she finally found him. "Welcome to Fandom. I'm Sholeh, you're new, err...big sister?"

Save for how she was several inches shorter than he was.

"Cookie? They're chocolate chip."

A new sibling and a new roommate, too! Sholeh was very worried about this development. Her other roommates hadn't stuck around long enough to notice that, well, there was something weird about her. Hopefully this one wouldn't, either.

Or, well, that he'd be okay with weird. More weird than even just flower crowns. "Cecil? Is there someone named Cecil here?"

If there were, she had cookies for you!

Kaidan was ten hours out of a warzone, and while he'd showered, he still kind of looked the part just by the sense of exhaustion that clung to him like a blanket. Still, he had a job to do, so he was here, nametag and all, keeping an eye on the newbies.

It was Pinkie Pie's favorite day of the semester (besides all the other days). She had her welcome wagon all set, her party cannon primed, just in case, and was on the lookout -- literally, she was halfway up a tree, peering over the crowd with one hoof shading her eyes -- for anyone who looked like they might be her latest teaching buddy.

"Ooo!" she cried to . . . whomever might happen to be listening. "I can see my house from here!"

None of Bond's suits worked with the mass of greenery on his head, so it was shirtsleeves instead today.

He made it work.

Electroclash did not have flower crown. But she did have her phone out, and was taking pictures of everyone else with their new headgear. And laughing.

It made it more fun to have to wear a nametag and lazily look around for her teaching partner. The Ice King, seriously?

And here was an Isabelle! Also with a flower crown ~~also not pictured~~. Also looking like it was a pefectly natural thing to be wearing, even though it clashed a bit with her clothes. Perks of being siblings with a FH student. She knew something like this was a thing that could happen and refused to freak out about it, even though it was weird.

She gave Sia a kind of critical onceover as she approached. Sorry, she hadn't been around a lot of other girls. "Hi. Marasiah? I'm Isabelle."

Oh, Isabelle smirked at the list. She could definitely live with this.

Then she glanced around for Raleigh.

Vider stuck on her nametag, then reached up to adjust her braids while she waited for her 'big sibling,' only for her fingers to encounter...flowers. She didn't remember anyone putting those on her head, and when she attempted to remove it it turned out that thing was really stuck on there.

So that was weird.

Jono had found out all of that morning upon arriving to the island that he'd been registered to teach a class this semester. He'd stared at the paperwork on his desk at the Boards, wondered idly if he had the moose to thank for that, or gremlins, and then had sighed and made his way to the picnic.

He still felt (and looked) like hell warmed over, but that wasn't going to stop him from staking out a place at a picnic table and counting himself lucky that the island wasn't adorning his head with flowers.

This bloody island.

Anna was wandering around checking nametags and calling, "Cecil? Is there a Cecil here?" every now and then.

She kind of liked the flowers, actually.

Vider was used to sharing close quarters, but she couldn't say she'd expected to be roomed with a boy. But it didn't look like she was the only one, so she supposed that was just the way things were done here.

She turned away from the list and looked around for Scott.

The flowers that had somehow found their way onto Herc's head were a bit weird, sure, but what he couldn't get over was that somehow his dog had gotten them, too.

And since he only had one good arm he had to hold the leash to keep Max from running off, instead of trying to get rid of this thing on his head. This was just brilliant.

Maybe this Skywalker person he'd apparently been assigned would be able to explain.

-- (http://allhopeliesinme.livejournal.com/762.html) finally crossed over into Fandom. He immediately reached up to remove the flowers from his head since his armor's sensors noted them right away.

When the flower crown simply reformed, Doom attempted a couple counter-hexes to remove it. It simply would not be removed.

Accursed Fandom. Screw that, he was just going to stand around, arms crossed, looking intimidating despite the flowers.

Batman did not have a flower crown. Or he did have one, and he hid it amazingly. It would be impossible to know which for sure. The important thing was that there was ANOTHER teacher in a cape looking intimidating and seriously, what were the odds of that?

Anakin, becrowned as well, noticed the new face. "Hansen?" he guessed, walking closer.

Anakin did a double take at the armor and cape.

"You're new," he said, frowning. Something about him felt almost familiar...
